> 3 dayTHE GOOD: --------------- * OMG, this thing is heavy duty. It is massive. It weighs 11 to 12 lbs. * Not just for working on Guns. Im more into woodworking and electronics. * Very versatile swiveling ball joint. * Torq-Lok accessory pin for high torque applications. * Two gun fit sleeves included with securing pins/rods. * Micro adjustment leveling cam. THE BAD: ------------ * Be careful handling the vice. The ball joint is smothered with grease. INSTALLATION TIP: ----------------------- * This vise needs to be bolted into your workbench. The bolts included are 1/4-20 bolts. Being into woodworking, I have an assortment of 1/4-20 knobs laying around. I do not plan to have a dedicated spot for this guy, nor do I have the real estate in my garage for him. So Ill be using knobs to make the vise mobile, and easy to remove. The included nuts would require a wrench or socket wrench every time you need to undue the vice. Will be much faster with knobs. Again, the knobs in the pictures are not included. This is just my idea. If you want to use my idea, then be sure to get 1/4-20 knobs. This bench vise is 5-Stars all the way!

> 3 dayThe quality is very good, everything looks and feels well thought out and designed. For gun smith type projects is where this vise stands out. I can micro adjust the piece to a perfectly level plane for scope/optic mounting and if I need the weapon in an angled plane this vise can articulate to almost any position I need it to. The jaws lock onto stocks solidly but dont cause damage. I also like that the jaw sleeves are designed to bite onto a picatinny rail (upper or lower rails).

> 3 dayI shoot a lot of scoped rifles and this vise is a solid platform to hold a rifle while I mount a scope. I like to start with the rifle level on each axis and keep the rifle that way as I do the installation. It is so much better than my Tipton Best Gun Vise for this procedure. Nothing wrong with the Tipton Best Gun Vise except it is very limited with the features I desire. The Master Vice jaws can grab and hold an entire gun or just a rifle barrel or even small parts. I really like it as a secure, but safe, third hand when cleaning my Browning BT-99 and Citori shotguns. The installation of the vise was simple but probably unique to each person’s workbench. In my case I could only use two of the supplied carriage bolts because of the bench’s bracing underneath. Fortunately, I had a 2” x 1/4 lag bolt and it worked fine. (An 1-1/2” lag would have been better but I didn’t have one. My only regret is that I didn’t purchase it sooner.

24-11-2024I bought an Umarex Gauntlet 2 30cal, which came without a scope or any kind of sights. There are many adjustments can be made with it as well. It is a great PCP riffle, but it is a heavy one, weighing in at 9lbs bare. This vise is great. It kept everything securely and steady without too much warbles. it is very easy to make adjustments, making is a joy to work with comparing to the cheap $20 vice that I had laying around. I was also looking at a cheaper solution with a vice rig, but I really dont have the bench space to keep one around. I wanted a space efficient vice that I can use for other project as well. I am glad that I got this one. It does exactly what I wanted, and does it well. So if you are in the same boat, needing a good vice for your gear, but not willing to take up the bench space with a dedicated riffle rig, This is a viable solution. It is a great riffle vice also functions as a general purpose vice as well. I recommend it.
