Real Avid Precision Gun Vise with Clamping Vise Jaws & Swiveling Vise Body Multi-Use Handsfree Bench Vise for Scope Mounting, Woodworking, Sharpening, Compound Bows, Gun Maintenance

I recently moved to a new home and I finally have enough room in my garage for a small workshop. This Real Avid Precision Bench Vise is one of the first tools I have ordered to begin assembling my workshop. It is marketed towards gunsmiths, but this type of vise is very capable and can be used for just about any purpose that you would need a heavy duty vise for. Keep in mind that this vise is large and heavy. As you can see from the product photos, you will need a thick wooden bench or table to attach this to. Otherwise it wont be secure. So now I will be looking for a suitable bench to accommodate it. Although I dont have it set up yet, I have been learning how to use the vise and testing out the clamping mechanism. This is really a quality piece of equipment. I think this is probably the last vise I will ever need to buy. The only question is if I will need more than one eventually. I love the fact that this vise comes with padded sleeves so that you can secure delicate parts made from wood, plastic, or other materials that could easily be damaged; so that you can work on them without hurting the surface of the item. This vise is fairly expensive, but its well worth the cost for such a nice piece of equipment that you can use for many years.

This thing does everything but drive down the street. Seriously though, this vise does everything you could imagine and more. I also purchased the lug lok, which works flawlessly with this vise and locking system.

This vise is not only super sturdy, but moves in every direction imaginable so you can rotate the workpiece making it easier to access

This is a multipurpose vise. Originally purchasds for DIY gun smithing - scope mounting, cleaning, mounting accessories, new barrels, stocks and custom hardware etc. This vise is more… I use it for woodworking, sharpening tools and knives, changing out farm implement handles, de-rusting and polishing, spray painting, bending rebar, repairing varmint traps, and straightening metal stakes. The value in this vise is the versatility and heavy duty applications. It is a work horse and my Go-To vise on the farm. Highly recommended. Just buy it - not just for a gun vise - you will be glad you did. It completes the workshop!

Bought a while back and have used this vice for various projects. Heavy duty vice that handles all my torque and stability needs. Well worth the cost.

I really liked this vise when I saw it from RealAvid and found a good price here on Amazon. I have used this vise to hold multiple different rifles to mount scopes, change stocks and attach new muzzle devices. Have also used it to hold wood for cutting for different house projects. I dont often move it from just a normal vertical position except for titling rifles to clean. The foam pad inserts are very handy, use them most of all. The opposite side plastic barrel jaws I was a little skeptical on but they held one of my rifles from the barrel just fine so that I could install an Arca rail to the bottom of the stock. It was definitely worth the money.

Not the cheapest option around but its extremely versatile product. Its so much more than a standard vise and still can replace any regular vise you dont need to have one specifically for arms and one for some other type of work Mounting was easy as it gets with 3 bolts in place. Adjustability wise its endless and you have torque lock for precision. Really really handy tool. Highly recommended for any vise required job
