> 3 dayI have 40 VHS tapes I need to rip to digital, and I hoped this would be my solution. Ive owned Roxio products before, and liked them, which is why I bought this based on the rating and the Roxio name. Wrong choice for me. I installed on a fully updated Win10 laptop, hooked everything up, and the program indicated No video signal, but I could hear the audio from the VHS tape I was attempting to rip to digital. I followed every step in the Roxio troubleshooting guide to solve this, to no avail. Checked all drivers, tried another VCR, tried 3 sets of RCA cables. A few hours wasted. Then I read some of the reviews here, that Win10 wasnt well supported. I had an old Win7 desktop that I fired up and updated everything (to the extent you can). Installed the SW, connected the HW, and in this case, I had video, but no audio. Again, spent a lot of time searching for a solution, to no avail. Another few hours wasted. I suppose that I could have gone through the Amazon chat/phone support, but ya know, Ive built my own computers for over 20 years, installed hundreds of products and peripherals, and helped dozens of people solve their Windows/app issues, and Ive only had to contact support once. I was actually going to try this on one of my MacBooks, but that apparently would have been another purchase. Nope. I returned the item for refund, and have ordered another item which doesnt require a computer at all for capture. Much more expensive, but I need to start ripping these tapes! This is just my experience, and many reviewers love this product. Im truly happy for them, but Im sad that this particular Roxio product did not meet my expectations.

Greater than one weekI managed to get about 20 hours of VHS video captured without too much difficulty. Windows did an update, about the end of January. Now I cant record for more than one/two seconds of video. I tested the Hardware with the open source OBS Studio and it captures fine from the Roxio device. But OBS filters out my DateStamps that I have. Computer is a Ryzen 5 5600X with Radeon 5500XT card with 32G+ of RAM. Have gotten frustrated with Roxio on this. Ive reported the problem to Roxio Support, but its been 2 weeks and no fix from them. Initially I had an older Nvidea 950 card in my computer... So, 90% of my 20 hours of captures were with that video card. The Denoise and Fix-Color enhancements in the Roxio software were decent given the age of the videos I was trying to capture. But since the Roxio SW doesnt work. I probably would have been better served to by a generic Video Capture device, and figure out how to use OBS Studio. Roxio support tells me to uninstall the SW and Re-Install with a reboot between. Ive done that multiple times and re-installing what is obviously a broken application does not fix the problem. Ive attached a screen shot, Notice how on the right hand side I have multiple video capture attempts with less than 1 second captures. To summarize: Capture Device works (even with OpenSource tools), Roxio VHS to DVD software doesnt currently work.

> 3 dayNo problem installing the software and device setup. I used the Roxio device to convert VHS and Hi8 content to DVDs. I didnt have any trouble converting the VHS content to DVD but the first 6 Hi8 tapes transferred to DVD without audio. This was very frustrating after taking many hours converting 6 tapes. The problem ended up being a setting on my PC for audio input. I rated this a 4 because there wasnt a problem with the converter but with the operator. This product would have been rated a 5 if the documentation would have been clearer for troubleshooting DVD audio problems.

> 3 dayIt wont burn the DVDs. However, Im just glad that I got to save old home videos as digital files on my laptop. My only complaint is that the videos look more fuzzy and theres a pesky purple bar on the top of each video that has everyone looking like Thanos. It wasnt there before, but it doesnt bother me that much because it eventually fades away in longer videos.

> 3 dayI did my research on this one, compared the brands I could find on amazon and stuck with roxio, have used there products before and will again. Very easy to use, picture will come out the same as your tapes no way to improve on them. Did not find any dvds that it would not work with, I had some old ones that still recorded. If your looking to move your tapes to dvd this is the way. Saves the files so you can record more than one dvd from your pc or laptop. At about ten dollars a pop from retailers who do it for you its easy to save big money if you have a lot of tapes. would buy again.
