My 11 yr old autistic child worked at it to unbuckle. Loved she couldnt unbuckle but ended up squirming out of belt due to her skinny body.

I bought this because I have a 7 year old who independently buckles herself into the car and she sits right next to a car seat that is secured using the cars belt buckle system. I was concerned that my daughter might unknowingly unbuckle the seatbelt that secures the car seat when trying to unbuckle herself. I realize the ultimate solution is to check to make sure the car seat is secured by the car seatbelt buckle every time I put my child into the 5-point harness car seat. Unfortunately, if Im capable of accidentally driving down the road before realizing I forgot to buckle my baby (true story at least once), I dont trust myself to remember to check the car seat every time. So, I wondered if there was a way to protect me from this situation. Of course, yes, a product exists! I installed the car seat with this in place. It works exactly as expected and weve had no unbuckling incidents. The only downside is you need a key or something small/flat to insert into the lock when you want to release the car seatbelt (I dont believe it came with such a tool). In the event of an emergency, I think I would be nervous to have one of these installed on a child who uses the car seatbelt directly. But I understand sometimes its necessary for those who have a child that will not keep the seatbelt fastened otherwise. Overall, I would recommend this product! I am happy for this invention and the added protection it provides my family.

Half the price as options on the autism sites and works great, as long as you make sure your kid isn’t playing with anything small enough to go into the key hole, cause after a couple times of seeing you take it off they figure out they can poke some things in there to pop it off too LOL, little stinkers.

I got this to keep my 3 year old in his carseat. Also because in the description it states for special needs kids. This would be exactly what Im wanting if he was in a booster seat but because the buckle has a button on the front and not the top this will not work until hes older.

I really needed this to work. I have two special needs boys and this was perfect. I was in an accident and had to have their car seats replaced. They had bonded with those car seats and several seats later they still couldnt stay sitting or releasing the main seatbelt. My oldest gets out of everything and on a trip down the freeway we nearly died with him lunging from the back it was interesting to say the least. I ordered this after looking through so many fix its. We used this for the first time and he wasnt able to get out! Baby brother had a bit of a panic because he couldnt get brother and himself out, but we had a safe ride to therapy! I almost cried. They are escape artists, so I check pockets and the back seats for any lock-picking devices and so far we are golden. Thank you for this peace of mind. Well be hopefully ordering more for Grandparents car as well soon. :)

It’s great for toddlers that like to unbuckle the seat belt. My toddler son has tried many times & couldn’t unbuckle it. I love it & now don’t have to worry if he’s going to unbuckle the seat belt while I’m driving.!

I have a 8 year old son with autism. We recently switched from harness mode to high back booster mode with his car seat. He kept unbuckling his seat belt on the high way or in town and my husband and I were constantly pulling over to buckle him back in. He even climbed into the passenger seat. I purchased two of these (one for my car, and one for my husbands car) and they arrived in two days. Very easy to use and they work!!!! Our son is unable to unbuckle himself. We use are car keys to unlock his seat belt. Easy. My only complaint is that you have to store it somewhere until ready to use it again and it could get losses. Weve been storing them in our cars hidden. Lol. I will be buying one more for his grandmas car.

The buckle is great, stays secure and in place but the seatbelt clip is horrible honestly. Its really hard to clip it on and when you finally get it, its easy for the young child to make the belt loose enough and slip out.

The product is well designed and would work for most children. However, my 17 year old daughter (5 tall, 95 lbs) was able to break it and unbuckle her seatbelt, creating a potentially unsafe situation on the highway. Smaller and younger children probably would not be able to break this product, however. I should note that the manufacturer directly refunded my purchase immediately upon hearing about my experience with their product.

Works great with my 2019 Toyota Camry, when others didn’t. Keep the jumpy dog from unbuckling my kid!
