07-06-2025For 20+ years, from the time our profoundly cognitively impaired son outgrew his car-seat, weve been dealing with awkward and expensive harness systems. For all his impairments, undoing a seat belt seemed to come naturally to him. Hes 29 now, and the Mama is not a spring chicken anymore: it was getting really challenging to deal with the harness on a 61 young man. I saw this gizmo, and for $12, I thought Id give it a try. And it works!! A little awkward putting it on the seat belt receptacle the first time with him helping me with the seatbelt, but once I got him to leave it alone, it was easy as pie. We love this thing! Just bought another one for when we inevitably lose it somewhere. I want to have one always at the ready.

> 3 dayI bought this because I have a 7 year old who independently buckles herself into the car and she sits right next to a car seat that is secured using the cars belt buckle system. I was concerned that my daughter might unknowingly unbuckle the seatbelt that secures the car seat when trying to unbuckle herself. I realize the ultimate solution is to check to make sure the car seat is secured by the car seatbelt buckle every time I put my child into the 5-point harness car seat. Unfortunately, if Im capable of accidentally driving down the road before realizing I forgot to buckle my baby (true story at least once), I dont trust myself to remember to check the car seat every time. So, I wondered if there was a way to protect me from this situation. Of course, yes, a product exists! I installed the car seat with this in place. It works exactly as expected and weve had no unbuckling incidents. The only downside is you need a key or something small/flat to insert into the lock when you want to release the car seatbelt (I dont believe it came with such a tool). In the event of an emergency, I think I would be nervous to have one of these installed on a child who uses the car seatbelt directly. But I understand sometimes its necessary for those who have a child that will not keep the seatbelt fastened otherwise. Overall, I would recommend this product! I am happy for this invention and the added protection it provides my family.

Greater than one weekThis safety buckle was a life saver... until the piece got trampled underfoot. I have a 4 year old who tries to get out of his seatbelt, plays with the windows and tries to open the car door when he has a fit. He also especially loves to unbuckle himself just because he can. This seatbelt lock was designed to fit over the top of the regular seat belt with ease, and it can be released with your car key when your ready to get out of the car. My only suggestion for improvement would be to make a piece that latches it to the seatbelt or back of the drivers seat or something when it’s not in use so it doesn’t get lost or stepped on.

> 3 dayIf you have a child that doesnt quite understand that taking their seat belt off is dangerous yet loves to see your reaction when they do it while youre driving, this product is for you!!! Once my son realized hed get a reaction out of me if he unlatched his seat belt while I was driving, it became impossible to drive him anywhere by myself. I had to always have someone in the car sitting next to him. Luckily, I came across this product and it changed our life (well, at least our life while driving). Now that he realizes he cant undo the seat belt, we dont have any issues in the car like we used to. He doesnt fight going into the car any more, probably because its just a much more enjoyable experience. I know I was tense with worry wondering if he was going to undo his seat belt. Im sure he picked up on that (us parents of special needs kids know how intuitive our kids are to our feelings). Such a simple device but such a huge relief!!

> 3 dayThe installation of it is a bit of a pain due to the seatbelt stopper not wanting to lock without having to put quite a bit of effort into it as the seatbelts are a lil thick (same trouble, no matter the vehicle as Ive used it in multiple different ones) what I do love is that once Im able to manage getting it on I dont have to take it off everytime I unbunckle/buckle my daughter the next time we get into the vehicle. I did learn that if you put the buckle safety protector on the seatbelt piece itself it is much easier than putting it on the buckle an trying to find the hole to click it in. Also if you lose the attachment (like myself) to slide in the hole to unbuckle the seatbelt, one of your keys or even a pencil will work lol Over all I love it. Does exactly what its intended for. Im satisfied with the product. I recommend but not for people who dont have much strength cause it can be tough most the time

> 3 dayThis is probably my best amazon purchase yet. I have a five year old that keeps unbuckling his seatbelt when he doesn’t want to leave a place. This is super easy to use. I can quickly get it on and buckled before he realizes it. Then I just tell my kid that it can’t come off until I turn the car off and use the car key. Which the car key fits perfectly in the gap to unbuckle the seatbelt.

> 3 dayOkay, this does solve my biggest problem which is my SN twins unbuckling themselves. That being said the clamp thing that is supposed to go around the actual seat belt - useless. I dont know if they are unaware of the thickness of a seat belt but there is no way that it will close around the cloth portion of a seat belt. No way. I tried it, my dad tried it and my brother, who is very strong, tried it. None of us could squeeze it tight enough to get it even close to closing. BUT I am giving the set 4 stars because the other part is WONDERFUL!! Easy to use and they are unable to unbuckle themselves. No big deal for me to use a key to unbuckle through the guard when I want to get them out. I will say that I keep a seat belt cutter in my center console just in case of emergencies. Now I just have to solve the problem of them sliding out from the bottom of the seat belt...ugh.
