What was really amazing was the side by side boot up too my MacBook m1 as the i7 with same memory size and same drive size beat the MacBook M1

The only thing I think prospective buyers should know is that when youre installing this drive, youre going to need one of those super tiny screwdrivers (the ones you use to adjust eyeglasses). You might think you have one in your toolbox somewhere, and so did I, but think again. You USED to have one, and then you LOST it. Or at least thats what happened to me. I had to buy another one....which was annoying. Anyway....the drive is great, it holds all the games, videos, music, documents and high resolution photos of your cat that you could possibly want to store. Have fun!

This is one of the fastest SSDs Ive come across. I formatted it with a GPT partition through Windows 10, completed quickly and without any glitches. My first test of it was the transfer of a 40G file from a desktop to the drive. I deliberately ran this test by plugging this SSD into a hub to see how it would perform through this additional device as hubs invariably slow down transfer rates even when paired with the best externals. Even with this added hurdle the 40G file transfer onto the SSD was completed in under two and a half minutes; and I timed it carefully. A second test with a similarly sized filed transferred directly from computer to this SSD in under two minutes at about 465gbs. The retail price of the 500GB drive I ordered seems reasonable. Definitely and highly recommended.

I was hoping to clone the 2242 form factor SSD on my Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 with this faster drive for an even speedier Windows 11 experience, but after installing into the only available 2280 slot (pcie 4.0) available and running CrystalDiskMark I was a bit disappointed that I was only getting half of the advertised speed with it showing 1800MB/s sequential reads and 1500 MB/s sequential writes. This means the 980 1TB performed almost exactly the same spec as the 512 GB lower quality Samsung SSD that came with the laptop, even on the random r/w tests. Instead of making this my primary OS boot drive Im instead using it as a D: drive to store my games on.
