> 24 hourDont buy this thing if you plan to use it for gaming. It constantly crashes everytime you try to do anything and makes your pc do weird things. It might work for you but for me it didnt.

> 24 hourI bought this to hold my local copies of my work. The 3 requirements I had are fulfilled by this device: Be fast, Be big enough, And be large enough to find on the table or in my bag.

> 24 hourSo far so good. Just using as a backup drive for my music projects. Samsung magician won’t recognize it supposedly because it’s an external drive. Usbc cord doesn’t seem to stay in the pc good so it disconnects and reconnects over and over if the cord isn’t stabilized. Could be my motherboard b450 Msi tomahawk max.

> 24 hourThe Samsung T7 Portable SSD 500GB is perfect for backing up my iMac (Late 2013). My backup of a little over 99GB took about 95 minutes with ExFat format via a usb-A port but when I reformat to APFS format, the same backup took only 75 minutes. I am happy with that performance until I upgrade to an iMac with Thunderbolt 3 speed.

> 24 hourVideographer/Photographer who bought this for use at home editing station transferring .jpg, RAW, and MP4 files for storage and retrieval. This SSD is ok. Its small, lightweight, has decent storage capability. I purchased one back in August and it worked fine for about a month to maybe six weeks. Not particularly fast, but fast enough for me. Randomly started having issues causing my laptop and home desktop to not operate properly. It disconnects and reconnects constantly. And it causes all my other plugged in devices to do the same. Got to a point where I couldnt even eject the thing the correct way without problems. Im seriously disappointed as I spent over $80 on something that has proven to be more of a hassle than a help to me. Recent reviews seem generally mixed. Dont be like me and get this just because its cheaper than the 2TB T5 which is widely reported to be way better. Buyer beware.

> 24 hourSo far so good. The drive is really fast with the USB-C to USB-C connection and I havent had any problems with overheating. Im only using it as a Time Machine Back-Up so it doesnt get much use on a daily basis. Whether this helps or not I dont know. My complaint with the vendor is that the drive they sent me was used like new (see the attached photo) not a new drive (which is what I ordered). While the drive really does look like new to me this feels a little bit like a bait and switch and I suggested to the vendor they might want to give me a small rebate on the price because of this. I have gone back and forth with the vendor and they either dont see this as a problem, or dont care, or ... Im tempted to send it back and get another one (although its not clear if Ill then just get another used like new drive). Ive had good look with other Samsung solid state drives so Im hoping this one wont do something like crap out the day after the return window closes. Well see.
