This stick is excellent, its very smooth and easy to convert to four-way mode. I did this so my wife could play Ms. Pac-man on the Pandoras Box 6 I bought. It comes with eight-way sticks as stock and she had trouble with that stick. So I replaced it with this one (which was a simple process BTW).

It is a drop in replacement and works well. I play a lot, so end up replacing it every 6-8 months. You could probably replace just the switches on it. But for the cost and simplicity, it is easier just to replace the whole unit.

The box was a bit beaten up like it was used. It does not come with a shaft cover and as a result, the dust washer they give you has a hole that is only big enough for the stick. If you want to use the cylindrical cover from your previous stick, then youll need the previous washer with a wider hole, as well. The two outside pins on the stick were slightly crooked inwards, but you can use a small flathead screwdriver or something similar to carefully bend it straight. However, the good news is that the purchase not only came with a 5-pin male connector, but it also came with a 5-pin female to female JST-XH connector cable that you need between your stick and the PCB (printed circuit board) even though its not listed in the product description. I dont know if they did it by accident or if its normal, but it saved me a couple weeks of waiting for the cables I ordered from Amazon. I wish that they had told us so that I didnt have to waste extra money. Its my first time modding a joystick, the buttons, and the artwork, so my experience and knowledge is limited, but using this stick and the other changes with the imported Venom fightstick during the Street Fighter V beta, it felt perfect.

The gate can be made to go so called 4 way mode BUT let me tell you its not true 4 way.... just load 1943 and fly the plane around and you will see the plane will occasionally go DIAGONAL! All will seem like 4 way but purposely go diagonal and you will see there is a time if you hit it right your plane will go diagonal because the switches are not leaf they are buttons and the gate is allowing the two to hit if you slide the stick - I tried 2 sticks both set to 4 way and they both fail the 1943 game test... I put a 4 way happ or seimetsu and it behaves properly. .. if you go diagonal your plane should just stay where it is and not move since your not hitting any buttons.... since this game is 8 way its a great way to test a sticks 4 way performance and this stick FAILS ! if your getting playing pac man or donkey kong and get stuck on a ladder or corner change your stick cause this one sucks for 4 way mode !

Im a fighting game noob, but I like fidgeting with my controllers. I have the Hori Hayabusa RAP V. First, I tried using a mixbox-like WASD/directional keypad and I didnt like that very much. Then I used a Seimitsu stick, lent to me by a friend. I found a bit too stiff. It worked well but a little too stiff for me. Then this finally came in the mail. I installed it, and I found it to be very similar to the Hayabusa in terms of throw and tightness of the stick. It does sound and feel a whole lot clickier, though. I think I prefer to this the Hayabusa and the Seimitsu.

Replaced the stock joystick on a Qanba Q1 with the Sanwa JLF and it feels great. Wasnt too thrilled with how the stock joystick felt and this upgrade was well worth it. Feels more responsive and tighter than the stock joystick. Also replaced all the buttons with Sanwa OBSF buttons as well and it feels like a whole new arcade stick. You honestly cant go wrong with Sanwa parts, highly recommended.

Fits my Vewlix, you just will need a proper mounting plate for it. No issues at all.

I just swapped these into my Arcade1up modded Street Fighter and what a difference. If your on the fence do it youll be amazed at the difference. Im so glad I did. Just a side note, the 5 pin wire that comes with these stick wont work, you can use the 5 pin that came with your Arcade1up or you can purchase them here on Amazon for about 6 bucks.
