I use it to record vocals and do rehearsal with my band. It does perfectly for all of it. i use no mid boost because of where my tone sits.

I’m an aspiring YouTube content creator and I was wanting to improve my audio, primarily my voice over audio. I was previously using the Samson G Track Pro which a superb USB mic, for the money.

Good tonal balance. Good clarity and dimension. They need a good preamp or result may have some hiss on recording.

i was waiting for this microphone to drop in price until I bought it. saw it drop to $400 and I hopped on it. Was very confused because I blindly jumped into this, my first mic, with no idea what to do. I had bought a Goxlr, boom arm, and cables, hooked it up, and set it up, but it took me like 3 hours to figure out how to make it sound nice. I wouldnt suggest this as your first microphone, like with me, but it sounds great, has an amazing range, and is extremely versatile. 10/10 cant buy again, because Im now poor.

This microphone is fabulous. Its my second SM7b and the 8th one for our radio station. Ive been using them for 13 years now with complete satisfaction. It is perfect for any type of voice so if you using it for on-air broadcasting, a podcast or for voiceovers it is perfect. The internal air suspension is great and there is no need for a pop guard as the foam pop-shield that comes standard works like a dream. Knowing that this model was used for Michael Jacksons vocals on his Thriller album is an added confirmation that this is a superb microphone. The shielding on this microphone is also topnotch. Overall this microphone will outperform some microphones in the $2000 category.

Anything that saves time when going live or working in post production is a very good thing.
