Soil Scoop

> 24 hourI had hoped this scoop, with its serrated edges, would be helpful in cutting the roots of weeds as I scooped soil to make room for new plants. The edges are fairly blunt and dont do well with cutting roots. However, it is a useful tool for scooping soil from planting holes after using a soil knife to cut any roots that are in the way.

> 24 hourI love this scoop! I have had two of them. (Two because my husband mixed cement with one of them - go figure). The edgers are sharp. They cut though the webbing of roots from the prior year. Fits in my hand nicely. I do not have small hands, but I do have some moderate arthritis. My hands do not tire as easily. I just finished buying two more, one each for my 8 yr. old granddaughters who are starting 4-H garden projects this. I bought with the intent of them keeping this as one of their first big girl gardening tools. I am excited. I do no use any other scoop. Very strudy and cleans up nice, too.

> 24 hourThe most indispensable garden tool ever made. Hunted high and low for a new replacement for my old one wearing out. Giving one as a gift to my son.

> 24 hourAfter much trowel and error this is my favorite small hand shovel. When I first received one as a gift years ago, I thought it was a bit gimmicky. How wrong I was! Once, I started using it, I realized its great versatility, and realized the limitations of the other hand shovels I was using. As a landscape contractor, I have repeated needs to dig to do my work and solve problems. The Soil Scoop offers a curved and pointed nose to help with digging small holes in hard or clay soils. The saw edge helps to sever roots that are in the way. When I need to dig out a small irrigation valve box or narrow planting hole, the Soil Scoop can lift out plenty of dirt, where other trowels will have the soil slide off right back in to the hole. Currently, my two Soil Scoops have disappeared, and being without them is driving me nuts! I love using the tool when I am potting plants and need to fill small or large pots with soil. The Soil Scoop is a great tool to lift potting soil out of a bag and into the pot. The way it is built means that the scoop is not going to separate from the handle as with other trowels. The blade is not going to bend. I have used Soil Scoops with the wooden handle and the Comfort Grip. I love working with them both. Wood and metal is a more recyclable product. You will not be disappointed if you buy one. You will be disappointed if you lose one!

> 24 hourI overheard some friends talking about this. They loved it. So I ordered it that day. I couldnt believe how much sharper and stronger this tool was. I always bent former tools out of shape and they were useless. Recently I lost my Soil Scoop and had to replace it because I refused to be withour My Soil Scoop!!! Now My daughter has one (my gift). So we are creating a family tradition. Soil scoops for all gardeners in the family!

> 24 hourIm a garden-aholic and I teach gardening classes weekly. This is the first tool I reach for! I have two for myself and finally bought one for my husband so he would quit taking mine! This tool is great for weeding, digging, planting, potting up, scooping, and the myriad other tasks involved in gardening. Makes a great gift too! People tell me after they have used it for a while that it has become their favorite tool as well!

> 24 hourThis is the greatest soil scoop because of it’s shape. You can dig a hole and lift out the dirt. However it’s greatest use is dog poop scooping. You can pick up the poop without pushing it away from you. This is no joke and I think it’s manufacturer is missing a great market.

> 24 hourThis is the absolute best little hand shovel!! This is the second one I have purchased because I sometimes misplace the one I have and I wouldn’t use anything else. The original one I have is about 20 years old and just as sturdy as the day I bought it! This has a great curve to it and I love the aerated edges to cut thru small roots when digging.

> 24 hourI bought 2 of these for gifts as I have owned one for many years. It does the job of several tools and is particularly good in a bag of densely packed compost, making a drill for seed sowing and cutting weeds like mares tail underground to mention just a few of it’s uses.

> 24 hourWe had one of these from 10 years ago and both of us in the household liked it so much - we would race to grab it when gardening (and, yes, we would take turns). Easily scoop; simply break up chunks of soil with the pointed tip; make a perfect planting hole; AND, easily open bags with the serrated edge. Now you understand why we both wanted to use it. Finally we were enlightened. DUH! - order another from Amazon. While at it for us - we ordered 3 to be given as gifts!
