We had one of these from 10 years ago and both of us in the household liked it so much - we would race to grab it when gardening (and, yes, we would take turns). Easily scoop; simply break up chunks of soil with the pointed tip; make a perfect planting hole; AND, easily open bags with the serrated edge. Now you understand why we both wanted to use it. Finally we were enlightened. DUH! - order another from Amazon. While at it for us - we ordered 3 to be given as gifts!

I have had one of these for years and love it. Bought one for my neighbor, who is new to gardening.

I bought one of these soil scoops many years ago, in a small specialty garden shop. It quickly became a favorite gardening tool. Could never find these in regular home improvement store and always wanted to get a spare. Finally found these being sold on Amazon and bought one for my son, although it was the plastic handled version. Shortly after, found the wood handled version that I wanted, on sale, about half price and only a few dollars more than the plastic one. Jumped on that deal and now have my spare! I love the cupped shape of the spade, which makes scooping soil and potting mix easy, and the pointed tip really helps digging into compacted soil.

I love this scoop! I have had two of them. (Two because my husband mixed cement with one of them - go figure). The edgers are sharp. They cut though the webbing of roots from the prior year. Fits in my hand nicely. I do not have small hands, but I do have some moderate arthritis. My hands do not tire as easily. I just finished buying two more, one each for my 8 yr. old granddaughters who are starting 4-H garden projects this. I bought with the intent of them keeping this as one of their first big girl gardening tools. I am excited. I do no use any other scoop. Very strudy and cleans up nice, too.

This was a gift some years back, and I love it! 1. It is reasonably ergonomic 2. It is like your fingers digging, only better 3. It can scoop lobster meal fertilizer and work it into the soil, excellent for sidedressing on a small scale

I never go out to garden without caring my soil scoop. It is my favorite tool. If you havent tried one you owe it to yourself to see how great it is.

Ive had a soil scoop for many years -- probably my favorite go to tool for gardening, doing pots in particular. But also great for working in beds. I sadly lost mine -- I think I must have inadvertently dumped it into recycling :( After looking in several garden centers, I was thrilled to find it online at Amazon!!
