> 3 dayI love everything about this outlet, except for the power monitoring function, I wish that you could download more than just the past 3 months of monitoring data, I also dont like that the data is cloud based. A great future addition would be to have an option to view when the appliance starts up & shuts off if possible? That way you could know the total running time.

03-04-2025We live in an older home that doesnt have overhead lighting in the ceiling. In stead, every room has to be lit with lamps and it was such a pain to turn everything on an off when you entered a room. So, we decided smart plugs and they have been a game changer. Very easy to set up with the eWeLink app and then integrate with the Alexa app. We group the switches together in each room and then set up the on/off schedules and routines in the Alexa app, rather than eWeLink, but you can do it either way. Lots of options. So much easier to just say Alexa, turn on the living room than switching on three lamps! Love these.

> 3 dayI got this because I was looking for a smart plug that would alert me to the current dropping below a certain level, which this claimed it could. However this requires integration with IFTTT, which has an additional in app cost. Even after purchasing that, it would not integrate and I could not set up my alerts. Fortinatly I was able to get my money back from google, and return this plug. as far as a basic smart plug with Alexa goes it worked just fine before I returned the item.

Greater than one weekEasy to disassemble and flash with tasmota, exactly what I was looking for. Works with energy monitoring in home assistant through cloud on factory firmware, or locally on tasmota.

> 3 dayIve used these for a month to get data on how much power we use for our computers, tvs, heaters, and fridge. It has been really great to see the results (mostly) live and in the app, however Alexa cannot see the power consumption like the kasa smart plug can (half the price... so i can live with that). The real issue is when a power outage strikes. These will turn off after the power flickers, and will not turn back on automatically. This is a really bad option for monitoring a fridge... and I was fortunate to be home and discover this behavior soon enough. I no longer use it for the fridge.

> 3 dayWorks for medium to large size appliances, but smaller devices that use 5V power (most USB style devices or small devices), do not register on the devices power monitor. It goes to 0.1W, so if your device uses 1W or less, its near impossible to get a positive this device is definitely using power answer from the power monitor data (for use in home automation). All that being said, the connectivity and setup was very solid.

> 3 dayWouldn’t connect in normal mode. Only compatible mode. Worked but kinda screwy on updating. Other ones I’ve seen update quick every couple seconds. Now it’s stuck showing the same wattage all day even with no devices plugged in. Guess I’ll update on the replacement if it works or not.

> 3 dayI love these smart plugs, it’s very affordable and it really works. You can monitor all your appliances for power consumption and integrate in home automation with any kind of platform - alexa or google to name a few.

Greater than one weekEasy to pair and get it working. Alexa, lights on, Alexa lights off! This plug is very handy! I am going to use it for my Christmas tree when its time! Looking forward to not having to struggle with the outlet each night.

> 3 dayI have found the Sonoff plugs to have a better range and reliability of other plugs I have purchased. The company allows for easy hacking via circuit board pads and the use of the ESP8285 chip. Even without flashing your own code the setup is fast and it connects with Alexa without problems using the eWeLink app.
