Greater than one weekI own both the Wifi and Zigbee versions of this plug and am extremely pleased with both. After pullinn it apart (which is easy, no ultrasonic welds) the internal construction is very well designed and plenty safe enough to my reasonably educated eyes. The Wifi versions are straightforward to flash with your own firmware like Esphome or Tasmota without much trouble to run with your own system, and the Zigbee version integrates flawlessly too. I also like the form factor, with it leaving the other outlet available. Power measurements on the Wifi version are accurate when compared to my fancy measurement gear. And on top of all of that, the price is outrageously good? Yes, please.

Greater than one weekBn Link used to sell these with a power meter but I contacted them and they don’t offer the meter option anymore because of a chip shortage. These are a couple bucks more but the power meter is the feature I really like.

> 3 dayUsing them with Alexa, very reliable, never had a failure/need of reset. Easy setup and Alexa integration with the ewlink app. In the ewlink app you can turn on some features that Alexa do not have but still works with Alexa, additional bonus. E.g automatically turn off the device after xxx time has lapsed since power on, power on state, timers and loop timers. Very useful for my setup, controlling a water pump for my house remotely.

> 3 dayThe S40 brings a new elegant and a little design to the previous one. It is amazing what you can do with the power consumption capabilities. And the best of all is the automatic turn off when there is an overload to protect the connected device. All of its smart options are as expected, they are even better when you have other Sonoff products. For example, I can turn on my wall plug when I turn on my light switch and more, just with the app. Overall, it is an incredible product and a must have in your smart house.

> 3 dayI just needed good, wireless devices that allow intelligent, accurate monitoring of electricity consumed by a device. This device was the epitome of disappointment. During the WiFi setup (2.4 GHz), it insists on getting your LOCATION INFORMATION. No thanks. AND you have to create an account to use them. NO THANKS AGAIN. No iPad specific app, only iPhone. Three strikes. Done. No more. For example… To pair, the blue LED blinks 2 dots and 1 dash. Then press the button for 5 seconds and it changes to… 2 dots and a dash… AGAIN. This is 2022, I have no need to be proficient in Morse Code. These things are not even heavy enough to be used for paperweights. I just wasted $20. You have been warned.

Greater than one weekI chose these specifically for the history and current-usage software. And also because they allow up to 1800w of power - so I can use them to track space-heater usage! App works great and was super easy to set up. Plugs have an on/off button right on them, giving you manual control when you don’t have the app. Basically same price as comparable models, so worth it for the extra electricity capacity and the app’s UI!

> 3 dayMy intended goal for purchasing a dozen of these ugs was to integrate them with Home Assistant. I was able to successfully integrate them without too much fuss. The plugs work as designed and advertised. Additionally, I am able to either use the eWeLink app to see the each plugs overall power usage and control each plug. I plan on flashing these with ESPHome firmware so I reduce the need to rely on the Sonoff cloud. These plugs do have a LAN Mode option which enables them to reduce the need for the cloud, which I really liked. Overall, plugs are a 9/10 on my rating.

> 3 dayI use for dehumidifier, Steamer, Online media box. I use for coffee maker to start 8 am. Surprised it made coffee 12pm lunch time. Too many ads in the app. For 4$ each. And Wi-Fi. CAnt beat the price but not perfect.

> 3 day***Not Tasmota compatible. This was my own mistake.*** These probably work perfectly in the advertised cloud interface, and integrating with Alexa, although I wont be using them in that capacity. I mistakenly purchased these to flash with the Tasmota firmware, as Im trying to make my own, locally-controlled smarthome environment. I was unaware that this new model is not based on the ESP8266 like previous versions were, but instead they are built on the BL602 chip. I found some talk of a similar custom firmware for BL602 IoT devices and I will be attempting to use it, but if you want to flash custom firmware onto a smart-plug, just get the older model and avoid this headache. These are nearly impossible (and probably dangerous) to disassemble, and the community around this chip is not nearly as large or well-documented as the ESP community is.
