> 3 dayThe Android application itself it quite underdeveloped. It has basic features like a timer, usage graphing, and naming conventions, but lacks any sort of optimization.

> 3 dayWorks great right out of the box. Using the Ewelink software, you are presented with all the parameters and easily connects to Alexa. Just change the name during the configuration to prevent Alexa from getting her tung tied up in a knot. The only downside is that unlike other Sonoff boards, the serial connection points on the board does not have through hole pads. Several flashers have damaged the pads trying to hook up the connections for flashing alternative software. Very good value for money

> 3 dayOnce I realized these are not a plug-n-play type of smart plug that requires third-party software I returned them immediately.

> 3 dayI used with Tasmota to connect to Home Assistant. It adds a lot of other capabilities. Good even for just monitoring the power.

> 3 dayI use for dehumidifier, Steamer, Online media box. I use for coffee maker to start 8 am. Surprised it made coffee 12pm lunch time. Too many ads in the app. For 4$ each. And Wi-Fi. CAnt beat the price but not perfect.

> 3 dayQ: Why would my firewall block a well known Ch___ government monitoring site? I guess Im a suspicious person by nature, but while setting up my Sonoff Type B wifi Smart Plug (S40TPB) I got enough red flags to make me return it. A), the instructions ask me to turn on my phones location settings and share my phones location with the Smart Plug. OK, yellow flag, but I suppose that makes sense - sorta. B) Be sure that the MAC address of the device is not on the BLACKLIST of your MAC management [I presume they mean my network firewall. Blacklisted equals a huge RED FLAG for me. C) Please contact your ISP [Internet Service Provider] and confirm our server address is not shielded [I presume they mean blocked]. cn-disp.coolkit.cc and other coolkit.cc hostnames are basically in C___a, right? Quick question for anyone reading this far; why does a blacklisted server in C___a needs to know when I turn your lights on and off? After a few minutes of digging around to see where my turn the light on requests were being routed to, I quickly unplugged this little monster and promptly brought them to my nearest UPS store for a full refund.

> 3 dayI have been assembling my own WiFi switches with Sonoff Basics and my own extension cords for a few years now. They have been extremely reliable with only one failure in over 35 units. I was happy to see these compact plugs with a 15 amp rating finally available. They integrate seamlessly with the rest of my switches and are fully accessible in the Alexa, Google Home and eWeLink apps. Options for Inching and energy monitoring are nice when needed. Build quality is excellent with a nicely finished case and solid feel. The indicator light is not obnoxiously bright.

> 3 dayI used tiny spring clips on a USB cable to connect to the board inside and flash Tasmota. Worked great! Unlike the KMC 30153 where they changed the underlying SOC chip (so you never know what youre getting), these have real Espressif 8266 chips in them.

> 3 dayThe S40 brings a new elegant and a little design to the previous one. It is amazing what you can do with the power consumption capabilities. And the best of all is the automatic turn off when there is an overload to protect the connected device. All of its smart options are as expected, they are even better when you have other Sonoff products. For example, I can turn on my wall plug when I turn on my light switch and more, just with the app. Overall, it is an incredible product and a must have in your smart house.

> 3 dayI used them for a week with eWelink, and after two days they no longer reported power consumption quickly, or at all. I tried flashing them with ESPHome to test if they were bad and nope, they were perfect, and i was able to read power consumption super fast (down to 0.2s) and accurately every time. If you are considering buying them, go ahead, they are excellent if you flash them with Tasmota or ESPHome. Do not buy the S40/S40 Lite if you plan on flashing them (Very hard to open and uses the BL602 chip, that isnt supported by literally anything). And finally, remember the S31 Lite DOES NOT have power monitoring
