Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Premium Noise Canceling Overhead Headphones with Mic for Phone-Call and Alexa Voice Control, Black WH1000XM4

They fit my large head without squeezing, no pressure in the ears, and borderline dangerous levels of noise cancelling. They are smart too, just cup your ear to hear someone talking, and the passthrough setting also works well without getting all echo-y. The materials are top quality, and the case it comes with is nice. Great battery life.

I love them so much! Comfortable and the sound quality is awesome. I feel like I’m in my own world with them on.

The touch controls are annoying and I ended up turning them off. I don’t care because I didn’t get these headphones for the touch controls, I got them for noise canceling and that’s where they excel. They’re also extremely comfortable. In combination these headphones have helped me fall asleep even in somewhat noisy conditions (on the road in a car).

By most objective measures, these are excellent Bluetooth headphones; they feel great, sound great, noise cancellation is great, and include some nice features. Unfortunately, Sony has consistently failed to deliver good build quality on their WH models, and as a result the left earcup CREAKS like a squeaky door hinge ever time I move my head or ears. The level of annoyance one will experience from this is sure to vary person-to-person, but personally I found the sound intolerable. After some research, it appears I am far from the only person to experience this issue; its extremely common, though some people report it within the first few days of use (like me), others after several months.

Simply the best wireless headphones. Feel very durable and high quality.

Last several months Ive spent studying for MCAT, and as it neared the exam I needed more time away from distractions and due to the pandemic sneaking away to my local libraries wasnt an option as I could only be there for an hour or two tops, I needed NC headphones being at home. Typically anytime I saw anything NC the WH1000 series was the way to go, as advised by the tech world and audiophiles. I had found a good deal on Airpods Pro and during Prime Day Deals found these. I was shocked to find the latest Sony headphones discounted $50 and bundled with $25 Amazon GC as well. The reason I mention Airpods is because I personally have seen many comparisons. Ill break down as much as I can below, I dont consider myself an audiophile.

I use these practically everyday I use them at the gym, to at home while gaming noise canceling is very good but I feel like it could be better but once you get your music or whatever it is your listening to you can’t hear anything very long battery life it says 30hr battery I say more like 72 hrs bass is awesome like honestly that’s all I can really say is just pure awesome overall best purchase ever I can wear these all day without my head or ears becoming irritated I honestly use my AirPods Pro’s at work and it makes me depressed when I use these because it just sounds like crap no matter what I’m listening to BUY THESE HEADPHONES!

These headphones are out of this world! I’ve tried WAY TOO MANY over the years but none have blown me away like this pair. The sound quality and usability is top notch; I love how customizable you can make the noise cancellation and ambient noise on the app. The look of these headphones is very sleek and it’s a nice plus that they are extremely lightweight. The best feature in my opinion is the option to push on the right side of the headphone to temporarily pause the music so that you can hear/talk with someone. So much more convenient than having to pause your music manually/take off your headphones if someone is trying to talk to you!!! Battery life is pretty good depending on how long/frequently you use them (I mainly wear these for the gym, and I wear them about 1-2 hours per session so I charge them every 2 weeks for good measure). I have raved about these headphones to everyone I know and can’t put them down. Highly recommend grabbing these if you’ve been on the hunt for a good pair of quality headphones.

These headphones suck. Noise cancellation is trash compared to the Beats I had before. Should’ve went with the Apple headphones as I’ve heard the noise cancellation on those are top notch. I hear everything at the gym. For $350, I really thought I was getting quality. Even the $150 Beats do better than this.

These are supposedly the cream of the crop, I have them side by side with the WH-XB900Ns, and honestly, the XB900s are just a better audio experience. I was an audio engineer years back so I understand accuracy vs. inflated consumer headphone EQ curves baked-in to sell more units. Yes, the XM4s are more accurate and crisp but not in any seriously meaningful way. I doubt that many people here would notice the difference over the XB900s. What you will notice is a lack of sub-bass frequencies on the XM4s. You dont feel the sound with the XM4s. Yes, it sounds more accurate from an audiophile standpoint, but the XB900Ns have a pleasing thump to each kick drum hit that you cannot EQ into the XM4s, its simply not possible. Also, the XM4s dont get very loud, perhaps its a safety feature, but, you arent going to get that being at a concert type immersion experience without running them wired with an amp, which again, kind of defeats the purpose of having great sounding headphones IMO.
