> 3 dayBought these as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend for a flight. I have the previous generation. I think the sound profile on these beats the previous generation out of the box. The noise cancellation worked great for my girlfriend on the flight and she loves them. She uses them daily with no complaints.

> 3 dayI am someone who is on the Autism Spectrum. Headphones with good quality thats able to block out most noise is essential in my day to day life. These headphones are probably some of the most outstanding noise cancelling capabilities I have seen. I wish I had these at a far earlier point in my life. Im sure glad I got these- life has been a lot smoother for me.

> 3 dayThese are the best earphones you can get for anywhere near their price. I know because I have tried just about all of them. These have the best noise reduction, bar none. I recommend these.

> 3 dayI had the XM 3 for about three years now. I skipped the XM 4 and was hopping for the XM 5 to come out with even better sound quality, a dual drivers perhaps (something like what Samsung does for their earbuds). I purchased the XM 5, and boy, what a garbage. They sound TERRIBLE. No, EQ doesnt fix an issues. While the XM 4 have the same 40 mm driver with powerful and punchy base as the older XM 3, the XM 5 sound like tiny earbuds thanks to its reduced 30 mm driver. So I returned the XM 5 and purchased XM 4. They sound different from the XM 3, but the EQ adjustment easilly fixes it. The XM 4 sound like a premium headphones, and I love that saddle blue color. The XM 5 is a $150 pear of cheap headphones for the price of a flagship. Whoever made the decision to downgrade their hardware and increase the price on top of it should be fired. If Sony doesnt fix their XM5 fiasco the competitors will.

> 3 dayI am impressed with these headphones after wearing them every chance I have had over the last 24 hours since they arrived. They sound wonderful, they are comfortable, and the touch controls work well. These are a real upgrade from the Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2, which I had previously.

> 3 dayUpdate (01/25/21 after 2 months): I kept my second pair they were not bad out-of-the box, but not great. They have great NC, but are super noisy in quiet rooms. Not as comfortable, higher ambient noise level in NC mode, and slow to connect compared to XM3. All Sony’s will fail eventually from excessive white noise. If you are a 6-12h/day user, look elsewhere.
