I looked into MANY other bike racks before I purchased the Steadyracks. These were the only ones I found that swivel and help save space and make it very easy to access the bikes. I needed something like this because my shed is 10 wide and my service door is directly in the middle (see picture). If I had a stationary rack the bikes would have stuck out into the middle of the doorway. I could have opted for something that I could hang the bikes on the wall above each other, but then I would have to pick up the entire bike and hoist it up 4 to get above the bike on the floor level, which is fine for me but not the other people in the household. Plus, I dont have enough wallspace to do that for four bikes. The Steadyrack solved all of my problems and make it super easy to access each bike by just swinging them a little to access the bike I need. (PS, please dont judge me by the messyness of my shed, LOL)

Followed the directions and the bike was way too high, readjusted and works very well. I like the swivel as well. would buy again.

Works exactly like it’s supposed to. The brainwork for installing it isn’t quite as simple as it would seem;, be careful to see that the wheel trough on the rack is in the correct position in the mock up for mounting hole placement which is actually done with the rack on the floor and bike backed up to wall (then you measure from the leading edge of the front tire to the wall with the rear tire abutting it)). Accounting for the projection of a base molding from the wall also can be tricky (I subtracted the depth of the base molding without realizing the base molding didn’t matter because it didn’t hit the tire). I looked at a lot of devices for hanging bikes with a top priority bod not having to lift the bike; one was basically an arm anchored in the ceiling that used pneumatics to lift the bike flat against the ceiling but, there was some fiddling with securing it and I didn’t want a big clutter hanging overhead in my nice-looking garage, which goes for all the pulley contraptions too. I liked Steadyrack’s vertical mount too because it leaves more useable wall space, it’s clean look and after getting used to it, the ease of getting the bike into it.

This is a great bike rack, I love the hinge so I can push the hanging bike side-to-side, and I like that the rack folds up when not in use. Its quite easy to install, but instructions could be more clear. There are some paper installation instructions included. As a purchaser in the US these contained measurements mostly in inches, also mentioning metric equivalent. Steady rack also has an installation page on their website (/pages/installation), which is better, all in metric. And from that page you can download an installation manual PDF, also metric, which seems to be the most detailed. There are slight differences between all three, however, and I ended up reading through all of them more than once. Some of the instructions called for a 10 mm drill bit to drill pilot holes. Some simply stated use a drill bit smaller than the screw size. None of the instructions told me the screw size. I eyeballed it and used a 15/64 drill bit. I think 10 mm would have been too wide. One slightly weird thing is that amongst the bits and pieces they provide are two rubber tips. They are only listed in one of the three forms of instructions, and it didnt even say what they are for. Overall Im very happy with the product, just wish the instructions were a bit better. Despite this, I was able to figure it out and install four of these without an issue, and am very happy about my new and improved bike storage!

Space saving, easy to use and super strong. This is the best bike storage option Ive found. I have 6 bikes. 3 ebikes and 3 regular. The ebikes are about 40lbs. These racks work great. Easy to put the bikes away and get them down. Saves me so much space. All the bikes are in a 6 foot space of wall. They stick out about 3 feet and I can push them closer to the wall if I need to. This is a very excellent product. Pure genius.

This rack excels in saving space without compromising accessibility. I’ve been using the Steadyrack ‘Fender’ and ‘Classic’ models for the last 6 months and they’ve worked great. I’m now done with the ‘ceiling hoist’ racks, and my teenage daughter can now put her own bike away. Pros: - saves space - Allows bikes to swing or pivot against the wall - Bikes can be mounted as close as 14” apart and still pivot against the wall - Relatively simple installation and online videos available - Simple to put bike up and down Cons: - not the cheapest solution - Drywall anchors included are inadequate (try and use a wall stud) I use the Steadyrack Fender racks to hold two 26” beach cruisers with large front fenders. The bikes are held vertically with the rear tire just off the ground. Just tip the bike up on its rear wheel and roll it onto the rack, and swing the bike to the side until the handlebar meets the wall (tires remain against wall while bike rotates to either side). Installation considerations: - Installation instructions state bikes can mount as close as 14”. This works for similar bikes (two beach cruisers or two mountain bikes), but with different bike types the handle bars can interfere with each other. You need to move them farther apart or stagger one higher off the ground. - Drywall anchors included are totally inadequate. Do not use these to mount into Sheetrock without a stud. I suggest using Snaptoggle type anchors (Home Depot, etc.). One reviewer marked this product down for the poor wall anchors. This isn’t unique to this product, included anchors are usually junk. Weight bearing items usually mount to a wall stud for support. I prefer not to pay extra for a product to include quality anchors, and if needed I purchase my own. If your priorities are space and convenience I strongly suggest you look at this rack. The ceiling racks I used were hard for my wife and I to use, and way too difficult for my kids. The bikes just weren’t getting used. I hope this review is helpful in selecting a bike storage solution.

The idea for this product is sheer genius: a rack that allows you to hang your bike on the wall and pivot it out of the way so that it takes up less room. The SteadyRack holds your bike securely and, unlike many wall hooks, doesnt put any tension on the wheel spokes. The racks sold here are black, as opposed to the grey or yellow models shown in some of the photos. If you have fenders installed on your bike, these racks simply wont work. The description refers to a version that will, but I couldnt find any evidence of its existence... The instructions make installing a single rack relatively painless. Unfortunately, they provide no guidance on how to space the racks when installing more than one. On a wall that has studs spaced 16 apart, it can be difficult to place a rack on every stud unless the handlebars are narrow (think: road racing bikes) or the racks are placed so that the handlebars are at different heights. If you have the space, placing racks on every other stud (i.e. 32 apart) is probably the way to go. The only real downside to this product, and the reason for the 4-star rather than 5-star rating, is the price. If you have 3-4 bikes to store, the cost starts to add up fast!

I couldnt be happier with this bike rack. I purchased three and love being able to have our bikes off the ground. The pivot feature is fantastic because you can hang them close together and still get to the bike you need. This is a huge space saver (we live in an urban area and have very little storage space). I was able to install them myself fairly easily. The only thing I didnt have was a socket wrench that is required for the lag bolts (borrowed one from a neighbor). This is one of my favorite purchases and one you wont regret. Watch a few installation videos before starting; that really helps.

Great product. I saved some bucks by buying a used one. It arrived missing the wall anchor bolts, but I expected that (I had some spares from earlier installs, so it was no problem). Otherwise it lived up to its Like NEW advertising... This is the second time a used one shipped missing hardware (happened both times I ordered (used - like NEW items). Buy NEW if you expect all the parts! :-)

Very sturdy, easy to install, takes little effort to load the bike. Best bike mount I have ever owned. I bought 2. I bought this mount as it swings to the side allowing me to keep 2 bikes and get them in and out with my car in a one car garage. You need to pay abstention to the position of the pedals prior to flopping them but is easy to do. Handlebars become the limiting factor on side travel. I would give 5 stars if the lower / rear mount retained the wheel when I flop the bikes to the wall. Works great when the bike is perpendicular to the wall but as you pull it to the side - the rear wheel pops out. Still works -- but my wall is covered with tire marks. Needs to be deeper!
