I have to say the non slip pad underneath was a stroke of genius. Throughout the years I cant tell you how many times I had a straight edge move ever so slightly over 48 and ruin a cut. I am now in the habit of triple checking all of my layout lines before cutting but from my first lay out line with this straight edge I could feel some of my old confidence coming back. Very nice to use.

Not sure quite what to say about this straight edge. It is quite flat on one edge, but it has a padded base that partially defeats this purpose. It is a very nice measuring device but I dont think I quite trust if for testing flatness.

Next to Incra rulers one of the best rulers for layout for complicated cuts. The extrusion and markings are well thought out and extremely well designed. The back side coating helps keep in place and the angled markings provide a much more precise sight line when a tape measure or square wont work.

Straight and heavy duty. Actually bought to work on adjusting guitar necks.

I cant get enough of these straightedges from Swanson. A good straightedge used to cost above $100. These are inexpensive enough to actually use, their grippy bottoms are really useful, and the wide range of sizes leaves me well equipped. No more using a the beveled corner of my Stabila level as a straightedge!

I needed an accurate, light 8 straight edge and placed an order for this item. This item arrived without any box or container and was bent in both directions. Amazon supplied a replacement item within a short number of days that arrived in an over-sized cardboard box. This second straightedge was also bent along the critical edge, it was curved inward in a concave way along its length, so I had to return it. I suspect that both units were probably damaged in shipment.

As a straight edge and a cutting by hand guide 5/5. As a measuring device 2/5. The laser etchings are very faint. I will try to use a Sharpie to mark the quarter inch marks.

Clamped it down to use as a guide rail. Soft bottom is great. Bright color means I can spot it under all the other junk in my work area.

Great product! I use it to cut photo prints and I couldnt be happier.
