Not very straight for a straightedge.

I needed an accurate, light 8 straight edge and placed an order for this item. This item arrived without any box or container and was bent in both directions. Amazon supplied a replacement item within a short number of days that arrived in an over-sized cardboard box. This second straightedge was also bent along the critical edge, it was curved inward in a concave way along its length, so I had to return it. I suspect that both units were probably damaged in shipment.

Super straight, and, more importantly, SUPER easy to read. The measurements are engraved instead of printed or stuck on. Very high quality. The rubber on the bottom of it makes it non-slip, and it works. Probably the best straight edge I have, especially at this price.

Great metal ruler for the price

This has turned out to be one of the nicest tools I own. Very high quality. Easy to use and very well suited to its purpose. Even the color is great. Highly recommended. I fully intend to buy the same straight edge in other lengths.

A nice tool at a good price. My only complaint is that its hard to draw a blade along the edge of this straight edge without shaving a bit of the orange/red anodization off into a fine powder. But thats more my fault than the tools...

I needed a 36” but this did well.

It is a nice cheap straightedge that I bought for running a knife along. I would not risk cutting against a good ruler because a knife blade can easily knick aluminum or even steel rules. But Im going to treat this as a disposable that should last two or three years without any problem. It would last indefinitely if used strictly for measuring. I only give 4 stars because it isnt perfectly straight, off by about .008 over its length. That is fine for carpentry and leatherwork, but not for fine woodworking.

A must have tool with multiple applications, especially as a jigsaw guide to cut perfectly straight fine cuts in plywood when using special plywood cutting blades and clamps.
