> 3 dayIm watching the entire series for the third time. Every season is consistently good, even when new characters and plots are introduced. If youre looking for a good series that is well written with good character development, youll like this. I think the writers and producers mustve put a lot of thought into researching the goings-on at the actual White House (in fact, about halfway through the series, they do a special one-hour show that features the actual people who were in the same roles at the White House). Having lived in DC for about six months and having seen some of the behind-the-scenes machinations that are a part of that particular political landscape, I think this series well captures it. There are only some instances where you have to suspend your disbelief. Otherwise, its an intelligent series that actually makes me have hope for the future of politics. I think we need a Jed Bartlett and staff for the next election. I missed this series when it was originally broadcast; I am surprised that some of the plots are still so timely; and saddened, too, that so little has changed.

> 3 dayDeeply intricate characters, moving relationships, and fast paced political action. Im a libertarian (Not a big fan of the democratic Party) but i still love this show. its just to good.

> 3 dayThe show just keeps getting better and as the characters develop you are interested in them as much as the storylines. Great acting, great stories and this keeps you watching.

> 3 dayI got on the bandwagon late, but I have fallen in love with the series. It is educational and entertaining. The characters have varied personalities, but seem to manage to pull together as a team.

> 3 dayThe West Wing is timeless entertainment. Having not seen the series when it came out, we started looking at the First Series in November 2008, and now were up to the Fourth Season. Sometimes we watch just one episode, sometimes we get suckered in by the story-line and watch 3! Entertaining and yet a great education about life as a President and the Machiavellian dealing that is going on in the background. Of course there is the Hollywood element (ie nothing like reality) but there are plenty of profound moments of insightful truth - education at its best! Have fun and learn.

> 3 dayI love the West Wing, but I cannot reconcile the cost of purchasing the entire series. My Prime membership was a great way to view the series without the enormous cost. Now that its off Prime I am seriously reconsidering my membership, as the other benefits to membership are no longer applicable to me. Ive notified customer service that unless West Wing is added back prior to my membership renewal, I am planning to discontinue the service. I hope Amazons negotiations with the distributor go well and this series comes back on Prime soon.

19-11-2024Just a note about the packaging of the 4th season - it comes in a neat book-style package, with individual plastic pages holding each disc. I swear, all multi-disc DVDs should be packaged like this. Very neat, easy to open and close, makes it clear which disk is 1, 2, 3, etc. Flip to the next disc. Love it! The others (season 1-3 anyway) have the fold-out disc things that are kind of frustrating.
