I bought this for my backyard double 6’ wooden gate on my driveway. The landscapers continue to break the locks I have on the gate, so I opted to try the sliding barn door latch lock. Had it installed a few weeks ago, holding very well. Where I live we occasionally get Highwinds, and was worried the gates would blow open, but so far so good. Very satisfied with the purchase.

The item itself is nice & as expected... however the screws included are very small & I had to buy longer & stronger ones, then painted the heads to match it.

I wish this hook and eye had worked for my sliding barn door. I read a question and answer where someone stated the eye was only 1/2 inch deep. It is actually 1 inch deep, and too bulky for my door to function correctly. It will actually prevent my door from sliding all the way since it would catch on my doorway trim. I was hoping for 1/2 inch in depth. This was not it, but the product is well made and worth the money.

This is a very heavy duty and fabulous looking lock for my sliding barn door. I didnt anticipate that the lock (any lock this size) would prevent the door from opening all the way to the stop. Im quite sad about that because I really want to keep this lock. Im hoping to bring the door away from the wall (even more than it already is) to make room for this lock.

LIf you are looking for a great quality latch, buy this one. It is solidly made, easy to install and looks great. I install on both sides of my sliding barn door leading into my Man Cave. Have my 2 year Grandson living with me and need the extra protection for safety and to keep him out. Shipping/packaging were great as well. Zero Complaints with this product. Lightning fast shipping. Solid product and super well build. If you are looking for a great latch, buy this latch. Cheaper ones out there but they are just that. Would recommend, buy it. Thanks

The latch is aesthetically pleasing and easy to install. However, the hook is shaped in such a way that it easily slips out of the staple (the loop) when attempting to open the door, rendering the mechanism useless. I solved the problem but using pliers to force a more prominent curve to the hook. Now it successfully latches and keeps the door shut firmly. Im really pleased with the purchase but cannot give it a rave review since I needed to jerry-rig to get it to function properly.
