Very happy with it - as everything moves to USB-C this is very useful. The cable it came with has actually come in handy as well which I didnt expect

They quit working

I like the fact that I no longer need to use a charger for my phone or tablet. Being able to now just plug the charging cable into the socket on this outlet/charger simplifies the use of these devices.

This outlet takes the full width, height, and depth of a standard junction box, with barely room for wiring!. I had to strenuously insert the outlet into the junction box and, despite covering the contacts with electrical tape, I still managed to create a short circuit because the electrical tape was peeled off by the tight fit! I succeeded on the second try, but it was hairy. Presumably, the unit is large because it contains transformers -- understandable. Still, this made the installation far more time consuming and nerve wracking than Id expected.

Charging ports failed after the first power failure in the house. Spent a lot of money for the convenience that didn’t last long.

First off, the USB-C is not the high amperage ability. Second, and most important, the startup surge of a vacuum killed the outlet. Ive run a vacuum here for years, so I know the circuit can handle it. Skip and buy a higher quality one.

The tamper proof portion of the regular outlet broke and won’t allow plug to be inserted. It was the first time trying that portion of the outlet and so I don’t know if it arrived broken or broke while trying to use it. Whichever, it didn’t last one week. Would not recommend !!!

Easy to install as any other outlet. However, after about two months the USB-C port stopped working. The USB-A works fine. Disappointed to have spent so much on an outlet that has now lost the functionality I bought it for over a standard $3 outlet. Going forward I will probably stick to established brands such as eaton or leviton.

This works like a charm. So excited to be able to charge my Google Pixel 2 XL using USB-C hi-speed tech. Im going to put one in every room!
