01-04-2025The Tamper Resistant feature of this outlet is VERY POORLY DESIGNED as it requires an excess of 15+ pounds of force just to insert a regular plug which led me to believe the product was broken at first. The electronics work fine with the outlet yet I would still warn people away from this product as it defeats the purpose of an outlet if you cant plug stuff into it without a struggle.

> 3 dayLikes: 1) it has a 30W Power Delivery USB-C port and 30W USB-A port (no PD). 2) the power wires are secured with clamp terminals that are designed to be easier to connect than standard clamp terminals. The Expected: When both ports are in use, the C port is limited to 15W and the A port is limited to 10W. These limits are in the spec and are necessary to keep the total power under 30W. Dislike: It appears that the 30W PD port gets knocked back to 15W even if a USB-A cord is simply plugged in, even if nothing is attached. This is NOT okay. Whats worse, it appears that you must unplug both the C and the A ports before the C port returns to 30W. The effect is a little more subtle as it seems like it only comes into play for certain USB-A cords... like maybe the outlet is sensing the impedance of the cord? What is really annoying is that the PD port doesnt reset to 30W until BOTH ports are unplugged. My outlet is installed behind some wall-mounted furniture so I need a type C and type A extension cable to access the ports... with this configuration, the 30W PD USB-C port essentially does not exist since I cannot unplug and replug cords to reset the PD port. Essentially I have two low power outputs. If you can access the outlet easily, then this quirk would not be a problem.

> 3 dayThis is super easy to install if your junction box doesnt have room many wires in it. This takes up more room inside the box than a standard plug. The charging, including PPS, works great but the USB-C side is limited to 5V if both ports are in use. Some charging cables will draw voltage even when no device is connected and that alone can impact the USB-C rate. This uses a standard Decora plate but none is included. I have purchased some higher wattage receptacles like this from other companies and they usually came with a wall plate. This 30W receptacle is good for areas where people need to charge phones and tablets but a 65W plug is better for laptop charging. Knowing how warm normal chargers can get outside the wall it gives me peace of mind that these are UL listed.

Greater than one weekIt charges my phone with no power puck. It charges a macbook pro but will not keep it charged under heavy processing loads

> 3 dayMy contractor insisted I get a couple of these to install in our kitchen. He was right. If you pair these with a couple 6-9 inch (dont get a whole foot) USB cords you can charge whenever youre in the kitchen or around it without cluttering up the counter or having the outlet piece. The USB-C in particular has a shockingly fast charge time that exceeds everything else in my house. When I really need my iPhone charged quickly I do it here and in 15-20 minutes Im probably at 75% its incredible. The tiny downside is if you plug other stuff in here that has a larger ac adapter, like an Amazon echo for instance, it might block the USB ports.
