> 3 dayTook these on a trip to NYC. Carried them in my backpack and did not even know they were there. They were big enough to cover me and my bag and I carried one for my wife as well. There was wind and these held up just fine. We did close them during extreme winds, but no umbrella stood a chance there. Good to carry now in my car for my daily use if caught in rain at home.

Greater than one weeklooks and feels very solid; have not tested the durability in wind yet.

> 3 dayNot the smallest umbrella you will find but for me it hits that sweet spot between too small to do any real good when open and too large to be practical for anything this side of dueling. Opens to a size large enough to give a decent-sized guy and his bag satisfactory coverage, but can still be tucked in a larger backpack or strapped to the side of messenger bag. Construction is solid, handled windy days well enough, strong seems, smooth mechanisms and thicker fabric.

20-11-2024This umbrella is very nice. Its larger than most of the folding umbrellas but fits nicely in my backpack. I gave it only four stars for two reasons. One, its not really golf size. Two, the metal framework could be a little sturdier, but none of the folding umbrellas are any better. Dont let these two comments deter you from getting one of these. If you like to carry a folding umbrella, this one is a good choice. Yes, I would buy it again.

> 3 day2021 update: The umbrella is still incredible. No bends, no fraying, no rips. The open close mechanism works smoothly even after 2 years. The handle material is not holding up well though. I store it indoors with normal temperatures, I dont think it has even been left in a hot car once, but for some reason the handle is deteriorating. It is sticky with a very noticeable residue left on the hand afterwards and it has collected lint and dirt that cant be cleaned off. It seems like a bad batch of plastic/rubber to me, and if the umbrella wasnt so great Id probably replace it just to not have to deal with the handle. Original review: Im 63, I bought this umbrella to replace an older version of this same model by Totes, the one Im replacing lasted for almost 5 years before I broke one of the rivets folding it up. Ive had a few dozen umbrellas and almost every one of them was too small to keep my legs dry while walking in the rain. This Totes umbrella folds down to about the same size as a normal umbrella, but it has a MUCH larger diameter which lets me take full strides while walking without my feet and legs getting wet from the rain and dripping off the edges of the umbrella. It also does a great job keeping my backpack dry as the bag is entirely under the umbrella so rain doesnt drip down the edges of the umbrella onto the bag.

Greater than one weekFirst one was rips and tears, second was being pushed inside out by storm and never recovered, they also tend to rust and the handle elastic falls off after awhile. Unfortunately tho its the best umbrella for most surface area for its most compact backpack fitting size. Its a real shame its so expensive when you have to replace it after 9 months or so

> 3 dayTotes offers a great lifetime guarantee on their products. Should they ever break, send them back and theyll fix it or send you a new one. In reality, after paying postage and the 5 dollar charge, you can pick up a new one on Amazon for about the same price and get it much quicker. This is actually my 3rd of this umbrella over the last several years. They usually hold up fairly well and can handle some abuse. Be careful though when others are around that dont know that it is an auto open/close umbrella. The 2nd one I had was broken by a friend you insisted on trying to slide it shut. Wrecked the spring inside and made the umbrella useless. Keeping it out of the hands of these people though, the umbrella works great to keep you dry. Size wise, this umbrella has a large open covering yet condenses down to a nice and small size to fit in my backpack so that I can carry it with me all the time, not just when I suspect rain.

> 3 dayWorks great so far. Ive only used it a couple times. Perfectly replaces an old similar size umbrella I had that developed holes in the canopy. I dont know that Id call it golf size, but it is a canopy that could be sized for two persons, or its a generous size for one person. At the same time, it folds down almost as much as my other totes with the smaller canopy. Glad it was available in lovely, light blue! The handle is fully covered in rubber-like material, so its very grippy. The open-close mechanism operates smoothly. Measures 50 diameter straight across from spoke tip to spoke tip. Measures 47 diameter straight across from flat side panel to flat side panel. Canopy measurement, I feel, is somewhat irrelevant, as long as you have the straight-across diameter measure(s).

> 3 dayIt isn’t exactly golf size as it was advertised so I was a bit surprised. It’s a good umbrella, but it said golf sized. Instead this is a good smallish umbrella that is portable and easy to store in your car. If you’re ant a golf size umbrella, you need to buy one and the type that’s the size of a cane.
