> 3 dayI have purchased numerous small portable umbrellas over my life time. Most didnt last more than a year, or inverted during the first heavy wind whichever occurred first. They describe this as a golf size umbrella which just means that the canvass surface is larger than your typical small portable. it is longer than the typical portable (about 14 total from top to bottom of handle) and it weighs more, but it is very well made, handles the wind and provides the kind of rain protection that I was looking for. It wont fit into a purse or small briefcase, but if that is not an issue, this is an excellent umbrella that is worth a look. I expect this umbrella will last a long time and I plan to take it when traveling.

> 3 dayA bit bigger then the regular Totes which serves us well as my wife is in a wheelchair. That said it folds up nicely and is easy to carry and store.

Greater than one weekOnly used once, during a merely moderate but direction-changing, gusty downtown wind. The moderate, inconsistent wind direction inverted this umbrella several times during the 20 minute walk. Finally, upon getting indoors, I saw three of the eight staves had became significantly bent. Note: My wife and daughter had other brand umbrellas which also inverted but which did not suffer damage to those umbrellas staves. The company gives no exchanges or refunds unless umbrella is returned in perfect condition within 30 days -which have already lapsed for me. Going forward, this umbrella still functions, but its fragile susceptibility to further damage (or complete failure?) from any direction-changing, moderate gusts makes me give future buyers this warning/recommendation: -->Pay more and get a more durable umbrella or be prepared for frequent umbrella inversion and resultant damage to (or complete failure of) the umbrella.

> 3 daySadly this umbrella did not hold up; it broke during the first use rendering me partially protected

> 3 dayHave been buying totes umbrellas for many many years. Needed a couple of extra large ones so got two of these. I find the handle material on these to be much more slippery than every other kind of Totes umbrella I currently or have ever previously owned. Its somewhat annoying. I might try to coat the handle with a layer of glue or maybe wrap some paracord around it or something like that. Edit: I am reducing a star. The handle material is just too slippery. As I stated above, it has less grip than my dozen or so prior Totes umbrellas. It is not possible to wrap the handle with paracord - it is too slippery a handle and the taper prevents a good paracord wrap. Similarly, it is not possible to wrap with hockey tape. A thin layer of gorilla glue helps. But the bottom line is that sadly I will need to find a new brand of umbrella to buy.

> 3 dayI love this umbrella, I have three of these. The span of the umbrella is perfect; its big enough where Im covered even when its a down pour, but small enough where I dont feel like I have to constantly adjust for other pedestrians in NYC. The auto open and close feature makes this umbrella so easy to handle. The only thing that could improve this umbrella is if it had that extra wind resistant layer on top.

> 3 dayThese are great umbrellas, especially for the price. I have had a couple for several years. They open strongly automatically, ready to go. The button to close merely collapses the dome, it doesnt retract all the way until you push it back by hand and reload the spring. The dome is a good size (54) and covers two people walking arm in arm. The umbrella is pretty durable metal, stronger than most. The grip is large and comfortable. The sheath slides on easily without snaps or buttons. Folded, this is not a compact umbrella but very comfortable, sleek and well balanced to carry. Best of all Totes warrantees it for any failure for life- $5 for return shipping.

> 3 dayThis umbrella is very nice. Its larger than most of the folding umbrellas but fits nicely in my backpack. I gave it only four stars for two reasons. One, its not really golf size. Two, the metal framework could be a little sturdier, but none of the folding umbrellas are any better. Dont let these two comments deter you from getting one of these. If you like to carry a folding umbrella, this one is a good choice. Yes, I would buy it again.
