This package was great. I bought a bus tub (like in restaurants) and a strainer (for cooling pizza) at my local restaurant supply store because I wanted a safe container to use to dye in and the diameters were perfect. I only ended up using 8/12 colors to die three 4x Hanes v-neck t-shirts to wear for sleeping. There was plenty of dye even when I only used two bottles per shirt although if it were double, I would have had more vivid colors. I *do* like how the colors came out. I didnt try any of the methods in the kit on techniques but did research looking for examples of what I wanted to beforehand. The plastic tarp sheeting was the perfect size for the space I had (I did this indoors in my laundry room) and I just needed to wrap everything up and toss it in the trash when I was through. Cleanup was a breeze, the dye didnt get on my skin although I used professional latex gloves that I already owned. (I never use the gloves that come with hair dye either.) The only pain about the whole process was the actual rinsing of the t-shirts. I probably had to rinse about a dozen times in cold, another dozen in warm and then perhaps half a dozen in hot to get to a light murky color. I didnt expend more energy to get clear water. The colors have stayed true and I have washed the shirts several times on their own in warm water and with a set of blacks because my fabric softener wasnt getting the t-shirts soft enough.

I havent done tie dye since camp in the 90s. This kit is heads and shoulders above the dunking in buckets of Rit dye method that I was familiar with. The colors are VERY vibrant, and 2-3 washes later have not faded. There is no soaking before or after, and the squirt bottles made it an easy process for my 4 year old (whose shirts turned out really well!) We washed all the shirts before dying and left them damp. Prepped with rubber bands, dyed, put in grocery bags and left them outside for about 5-6 hours, during which time it rained rather heavily. Rinsed in the sink, then washed and dried them all together. We dyed: 6 adult medium Ts, one adult medium long sleeve shirt, 5 boys small tees, 5-6 4T tank tops/tees, one 4T sundress, one 4T pair of pants. (We dyed all our light-colored, permanently stained cotton clothing.) We used up most of the dye. Even the brown, which looked a lot cooler then I thought it would. Tips: If you can, dye outside. We did it over gravel, which was perfect. The kit includes a bunch of rubber bands, but we did need extra. When shaking the dye/water in the bottle to mix it, a couple of ours did leak a few drops, but it wiped easily off our wood floor with no staining. Not sure it would come off stone/tile/vinyl as easily. There are a bunch of cheap plastic gloves included--they fit me great, tore on my husband, and were obviously huge on the 4 year old.

The kit was fun and relatively straightforward. The suggested designs were helpful even though we ended up looking up more complicated ones online. We dunked the clothing in water and then wrung it out well enough before rubber banding them into desired designs. When it came to the actual application, it was messier than expected. We did it outside on plastic tarp but the liquid kind of squirts everywhere. I wouldnt recommend trying to do small/intricate design with these bottles alone. We rotated the clothing to try and saturate fully from all sides, but again, it got really messy. After we were done applying it looked like the underside would end up an ugly runny brown, and I was worried. But it definitely did not turn out that way! We let our shirts sit for 24 hours because thats how long it took the sweatshirts to become mostly dry, then rinsed them well and put them in the washer with just a teeny tiny bit of laundry soap on cold and delicate, large load because it recommends using excess water to wash. Everything turned out really great and vibrant and not brown at all!! However, we used every bit of all the bottles except for the brown one, and ended up with two crewneck sweatshirts, a short sleeve tshirt and two long sleeve tshirts (these two arent pictured). If we hadnt done sweatshirts and long sleeve shirts we MAYBE could have made 8 tshirts total. The kit says you can do up to 36 projects, but unless youre tie-dyeing headbands and bandanas, that part is not true. Overall good product, though.

Our very first experience with tie dye and could not be happier!!!! The tutorial pamphlet was very helpful and we had a ton of fun. NEED to ensure the caps are on snug before mix shaking! Found a few faulty caps which made a mess in my sink but cleaned up easy with bleach. Our colorstay was AWESOME! We cured the dye for approximately 24 hours before rinsing. Overall, I think I am now a tie dye ADDICT! Buying more!!!!

I got this for my twin granddaughters for their birthday because they love to tie dye everything. They loved the set. The choices of colors is really great, and the fact that there are gloves and rubber bands included make this a great buy.

My daughter and I bought this for a fun summer project. We were really pleased with how much came in the kit. There were a ton of colors (which we knew), and they mixed easily with water. The colors were exactly what we expected. One of the bottles was a bit leaky in the cap, but we put some saran wrap around it and it was fine to continue shaking to mix the color powder and water. The projects came out really well too! The shirts we made have been washed quite a few times since we dyed them, and theyre still vibrant. I definitely recommend this kit!

I bought this kit to use with my nieces and nephews. 3 years-9 years old. We did ten t-shirts 6 pairs of socks 4 hoodies and some masks and had enough color. We watched YouTube videos for the patterns.. so much fun! Just be ready for a mess!!! Lol.

I loved this set. Just add water and the dyes ready to go. The colors came out beautifully and complimented each other nicely. It came with easy to follow instructions & tips, rubber bands, gloves (8 pairs), and a plastic bag or two to put your shirts in while they dry. Its a great kit. Also, they say to use the dyes very soon after adding water or theyll lose vibrancy. That seems to be somewhat true but it doesnt mean the extra is worthless. I left older dye on a little longer and it just makes for a slightly diluted, but not horribly faded look.

I am so unhappy with the way this product arrived to me. When I opened my package ut was out of its original packaging and had been opened. Everything was just laying in the bag.
