> 3 dayLOVE this brand for tie dying, love this kit even more! Ive purchased multiple of this kit from this seller. Ive only used one thus far & it was great! Got to teach my niece how to tie dye for the first time & it did not disappoint! Pictured is just the baby onesies we did to see what patterns Im going to want people to make at my baby shower (if were able to gather in October that is) 2 of these kits will be perfect for the event! All together we made the 10 onesies, 2 plus size adult women shirts, 1 childs tank, shirt & pants & an adult tank & shirt....so 17 items all together. While we used up majority of the blues & purples, as those are our favorite colors, there was still a TON of dye leftover. So the 36 item label I could see be totally true! The last 2 I ordered came much quicker than i expected them to, which is always an awesome surprise. When they come back in stock snag them while you can! With them being out of stock everywhere prices have gone up each time they restock, but so far its still been worth it to me!

03-06-2025Buying this kit was a no-brainer as I was searching for a simple kit with many color options, and pretty cost effective. Ill add some tips that will help your colors pop, and stay sharp wash after wash. Get yourself some organic urea nitrogen, and soda ash for dye. Both can be found here on Amazon under the Jacquard brand. Dick Blick has both of these items for considerably less cost, but I wanted everything to arrive at once so I ordered everything from Amazon! Step 1: Add two cups of the soda ash to two gallons of warm water, and dissolve. Be careful with this step as the fumes can be quite caustic. WEAR GLOVES. The soda ash will severely dry out your hands, and its just an unpleasant experience. Add items you wish to Tie dye to the water, and soda ash mixture, let sit for around an hour, be sure that items are thoroughly soaked. Step 2: since the dye is in 12, 4 ounce bottles, add only one half tablespoon of the urea organic nitrogen to the dye powder before filling with warm water, and shaking! Shake it up!! Shake it real good, yall! Now, your dye bottles are filled, your items are soaked, and your knees are shaking because you are ready to dye! Wring out all excess water from your items, and choose your design. This kit has a paper showing different designs, but YouTube is a great place to look up ideas! Now, if you wear any size shirt greater than a Mens large, I recommend doing the sunburst design, as it takes considerably less dye to cover, and saturate. Smaller items will look much better tie dyed, such as socks and underwear. As you can see in my photos. Finally, youve dyed all the things! Use plastic bags or saran wrap to wrap them each individually, never place two dyed items together or the colors will bleed into one another. This kits specifies to wrap for 8 hours, but I waited around 18 hours before unwrapping. Rinse excess dye out with COLD water, and wash on delicate, with cold water! Dry however you wish! I hung mine up to dry.

Greater than one weekAwesome family activity for us and it churned out some amazing pieces!!! There was enough ink for us (family of four -2 adults and a 4 & 5 year old) to stain about 4-5 small items each! Keep in mind that we did onesies and toddler t-shirts. Excellent variety of colors which allowed us to do the traditional shades as well as some earthy tones, which I loved tinkering around with. So fun!

Greater than one weekLove their vibrant, long lasting colors! Easy to use and great results. From my experience, the darker shades are barely used, and there is never enough yellow dye. I would have preferred 2 yellow and no black/dark brown, for example

> 3 dayI bought this kit to tie dye onesies that my eldest daughter used (and stained) for upcycled onesies for my son. I just did a few to start and can’t wait to do more! I did 14 or so onesies with just three bottles of dye. Still have some left in those bottles and plenty more can be done with the other colors I haven’t used yet. Make sure to wet all your clothes you plan to dye before twisting them up to ensure that you don’t waste any of the color and get the most vibrant results. Also, let them set in the ziplock bags for at least 24 hours.

> 3 dayThis was a gift. It was easy to prepare. Comes with nice directions and ideas. Colors came out bright. We did wash our items first and let them sit overnight. Gloves are a must unless you wanted colored hands for a few days.

> 3 dayAs a tie-dye product, this stuff is fine. The colors are nice and vivid and you get a lot for your money. BUT, as I just spent half a damn hour on the phone with poison control trying to figure out the toxicity of this stuff, I WILL NEVER buy this brand again. There is no information on the packaging or insert about toxicity. Not only is there no information on their website (aside from how to buy more of their products) about what the dyes are made of, if theyre toxic, or what you should do if accidentally ingesting--they dont even have the decency to list a phone number or contact information aside from a generic email address. To be clear, I had a bottle spill, the cat decided to walk through it before I could clean it up, then he started licking his feet. I finally did a super broad google search of Tulip One Step and got some random ass phone number. Played press-button roulette for a few minutes, then was finally given a number for poison control. It took two separate people from poison control to find enough of a chemical inventory of the product to let me know that, Tulips dye recipe is a SECRET....but there is a general statement of its nonhazardous, so whatevs I guess. How fing hard is it to make an easily visible/accessible toxicity label?

Greater than one weekTulip in the number one brand in Tie Dye. Make sure you follow the directions to keep from making a huge mess and ensure the dye takes properly. Before using I would search the internet for videos as they are many, many ways to create fun and beautiful patterns. The biggest warning I can give is, this is not for little kids, the dye will stain anything it touches. Also, use latex or nitrile gloves, the cheap plastic ones provided get in the way.
