> 3 dayGood screen, well built, good sound. However, older LED TVs do one thing better. At least for me. They used to MUTE the speaker if you had headphones plugged in, so the sound was there automatically for me when I put the headphones on. Seems a humane thing to do, since I turn it on late at nite, and dont want speakers blaring for even a second while my wife wants to sleep. TODAYS TVs including this Viewsonic do it differently: They ASSUME you have a SOUNDBAR if you have something plugged into the headphone jack. Then, you get no sound WHATEVER until you wake up the soundbar too. Universal remote controls can run a TV and a DVR device simultaneously, but NOT A THIRD DEVICE [the now obligatory soundbar]. VERY annoying. As a side issue NOT related to this very nice TV, I now have so many control wires running between my many devices, I better not have a house fire, because theres no way for the insurance company to figure out what went wrong and pay a claim. Id have to sell the wreckage to a copper recycler.

> 3 dayI have the previous model of this monitor, so when I needed a second one (which I use for work more than anything) I got this one. Picture is good, very adjustable. This one has buttons rather than touch controls, and Im having a tough time getting both monitors to look the same because the menus are different. Because this was new I was going to use it as my primary screen and use my old one as the secondary screen, but the sound was so tinny and awful (hence 4 stars) that this is my secondary monitor. So if you dont need/want to use this for sound it will probably be great.

24-04-2025I purchased this as the display component to a new PC build I was working on, which ended up never coming to fruition, and as such, I returned it. However, I still have some things to say. When I was looking for a solid, affordable 1080p monitor, this model immediately caught my eye, namely for its relatively high average rating and its above par response time (2ms vs the standard 5). I decided to buy it after reading several strongly positive reviews, praising its brightness, color reproduction accuracy as well as its viewing angles, the descriptions of which made this display seem a little too good to be true. As it turns out, I was mostly right. It came very well packaged, and with a plethora of cables to boot (DVI, VGA, and aux), which gave me a great first impression. As I set it up (which was a very straightforward process), I immediately noticed that the plastic bezel styling appeared somewhat gaudy and notably cheap, which was the first aspect of many in this item to disappoint. I decided I could live with this, so long as the quality of the screen justified it. Sadly. I cannot say that it did. After hooking it up to my machine via DVI, I was instantly let down by the viewing angles, which were so bad that any conceivable position I could take in front of the panel left one or more sizable portions of the screen incongruently colored and lit. I tried the other cable configurations, with the same result across all - utter mediocrity. The brightness was also a fairly large let-down, being decent at best in certain color modes, to downright pitiful in others (sRGB). This was not well complemented by the surprisingly acceptable response time, which, at 2ms, left no noticeable artifact ghosting on screen, and made for a more or less smooth feeling PC usage experience. Oddly, the speakers were surprisingly decent, with pretty nice volume levels and above average tonal range, although their positioning on the rear of the monitor made the sound seem rather distant at times. Verdict: For the price, I would certainly recommend looking for something else. There are much better options available on Amazon, for the same amount, give or take $20. Not the worst display in the world, but not one I would ever want to keep.

> 3 dayThis replaced a 22 Viewsonic that I have had for many years but is got fried by lightning strike. I like quality, setup is a bit challenging but do-able. Only thing I dislike is the tinny audio speakers. the old 22 where much better. I am using it on a Mac laptop OS.10.14.5

> 3 day[+] THE REVIEW: I got this monitor for programming code. I am not going to speak to the monitors color accuracy. I am assuming if you really want to have tuned color you need to use a hardware device to color correct any monitor you purchase. I dont have that hardware. The colors, as far as the naked eye goes, look great. As mentioned you need to first adjust the brightness and contrast. I turned mine down to 40%. I did not make any other color corrections. The 1080p works great for dotnet programming with visual studio. The wider screen allows me to have my toolbox and my properties windows active all the time without it interfering with the space to design the form. It actually works better than expected. For this price I am really glad I took a chance and purchased this monitor. [Update: 11/19/2014] The more I use this monitor the more I really love it. I am so use to using it now that I prefer it to my laptop screen. I stream HD video to watch Amazon Instant Videos, and it is perfect. When I looked at the price I paid, I forgot it was so low. I highly recommend buying this monitor if you are a programmer or just want to watch anything in HD. [Update: 5/27/2018] Im still using this monitor about 4 years later, and it works great. No dead pixels and color remains perfect.

> 3 dayAs a digital artist and a gamer, choosing a good monitor is important. I have heard good things about the brand, and this monitor has not disappointed. The color is exactly what it should be (this is after calibration, of course) and the brightness can be adjusted quite extensively. Also, as a gamer, the monitor resolution is important so that the image is not distorted or limited. a 1080x1920 resolution is typically the highest resolution games support, even some games that go back over five years. The Game Mode feature is fantastic. I have had instances with very dark areas in games that this has helped me in, and it works well. Now for the bad. First off, the speakers are terrible for anything. I simply do not even bother using them at all. The included stand is a little bit wobbly, but you would need a very shaky desk for it to be a problem. Finally, the menu for adjusting monitor setting (this is built into the monitor, not part of Microsoft Windows) is difficult to navigate, and I have run into instances where I get stuck in a sub-menu and cannot navigate out. Also, the buttons are sharp and not very pleasant to press, but its easy to tell which button is which. All in all, I think this was a great purchase. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. I would like to see ViewSonic build upon the results of this monitor and further improve it, but I dont think Ill be in the market for a new monitor for a while, unless of course I get a second one to duel-screen with, in which case, Ill probably get another of these.

> 3 dayI have no idea what happened. I just came home one day and noticed, while plugged in, the orange light wasnt on. Ive tested several outlets but nothing turns it on any more. Theres also no clear way to disassemble and see if its a PSU issue.

> 3 dayI purchased this monitor after reading a lot of reviews, agree with many reviewers that this monitor is capable of frying your retinas right out of the box. I did spend a considerable amount of time fiddling around with the adjustments, and managed to tone the brightness down considerably. I am still trying to dial it in, and as of now everything appears to have a slight blue tint to it. It will take some time to dial it in to my liking i suppose, but for now it works. For the price I paid, I cant be expecting perfection, after all. I use it for gaming and web browsing only, and it performs well enough for those activities. I cannot justify spending hundreds of dollars for a gaming monitor, as I just dont have the extra cash to spend on those kind of things.

> 3 dayThe ViewSonic VX2452MH 24 Inch 2ms 60Hz 1080p Gaming Monitor has startling color range and clarity for both at home computing and video streaming of your favorite entertainment channels. I found the monitor to be easy to set up and use with a variety of digital inputs including HDMI and traditional VGA and DVI connections. I have a dual monitor setup on my pc and look forward to purchasing another VX2452MH to replace an older monitor when it is time. Excellent monitor for the price.

> 3 dayI ordered thirty of these monitors. The monitors are fine; theyre beautiful, exactly what we expected, and we have had no problems with them yet. The problem was that it took nine days to get them all because Amazon shipped them using USPS. The delivery date kept getting put off. I had frustrating calls to Support for help, and finally got a local USPS Supervisor on the phone. He told me they couldnt deliver on time because there was no room on the truck. Finally, over a two day period they were finally delivered. We have these issues often with USPS, and never with FedEx or UPS. Clearly USPS does not have the capacity to manage the additional load that Amazon has entrusted to them.
