Greater than one weekI have multiple ssds in my PC I have my windows install on an Intel pcie nvme SSD then I have another SSD made by micron plus I have a Western Digital black which I use for storage. I decided I needed more space and I wanted it to be an SSD and I found this one for a good price it was easy to install and when I ran speed test on it it came very close to its specified performance level. You almost never get what they advertise but this drive comes Incredibly Close. For an example of its speed I loaded The Witcher 3 from this drive and it took seven seconds to boot up the game and get into the game from the menu. Then I tested it on the Western Digital black and it took much longer around 30 to 45 seconds to load up the level. Thats a significant difference especially because it has to load any time you die so with this drive its almost like theres no wait at all I definitely buy another one

> 3 dayBought this as a boot drive for my OS because my computer was experiencing micro-stuttering and very slow start-up times (symptoms of a failing hard-drive). I purchased a separate SSHD for the rest of my files and programs. My computer starts up in seconds now, and the applications that I saved onto it besides the OS (such as Skype) open instantly. Files transfer ridiculously fast compared to my old hard drive as well. Needless to say this SSD fixed the issues I was having. I will update this review if the drive fails, but so far its performing really well!

> 3 dayI upgraded to this from a 750GB, 7,200RPM hard drive, and my boot time, which I didnt time either way, went from around 30-45 seconds, to around 5 seconds. 10 tops, from a cold boot to getting online and browsing the web. Its insane how much faster my computer is with this guy installed. I upgraded from an AMD dual core CPU with 4GB RAM to a Xeon quad core with 16GB of RAM, but while it was a faster computer, the boot and drive times really werent changed, because a hard drive can only spin so fast. Maybe there are better SSDs (I mean, Im sure anything with NVMe is going to be better) but if youre coming from a hard drive, this is a great first step.

> 3 dayInstalled in a I3 driven Acer 4830T with 6gig ram. It cost $20 dollars to get the Win7 recovery disks from Acer. I started to worry that the drive wasnt working right because the reinstallation took about 2 hours. After the install/updates were done all I can say is wow! Dont forget to go to the WD website and download the dashboard software. You dont need this for the drive to work but it does verify it is working. Power up takes 20 seconds and a complete restart is only 1 minute. Now if I could just remember why I need a computer at home with my tablet and phone being so fast.

> 3 dayWorks great, fast and as far as I can tell 0 issues. Plugged right up after a full format and away we went. Using it for everyday and gaming alike. Since going to a full SSD system I have zero issues and great speed. I cannot say for speed rating as I have not tested it yet. But during download/installs it has peaked out around a few hundred MBs. Check others and the speed comparisons; you cant go wrong with this drive. I havent noticed and issues yet! Though it does seem that after regular and heavy use, that everything is loading faster since I started using it. Super happy with it; and dont let the Blue category vs Black fool you. Seems that the only SSD they offer right now is Blue. So, I guess a Black edition is coming? If so, it is going to have crazy performance!

> 3 dayI have always used samsung pro ssd, but for low end i3 desktop and laptops the western digital blue is plenty good, great value. the acronis western digital edition software you can download on the western digital website. its nice. to clone this i buy a simple usb 3 to sata cable, works wonders. sometimes it would not recognize, if that is the case remove all of your usb ports, it sucks too much power, as soon as you disconnect the other usb devices the usb/sata cable will recognize this drive.

> 3 dayBought 2 of these to bring new life to a couple of old laptops. Kept my old operating systems and cloned & partitioned them for Linux Mint as a second system using the free version of Minitool. Both laptops work perfect with this drive and the newer one with a faster interface & CPU runs at least 5 times faster than with its old mechanical drive. They barely get warm and I havent had a computer freeze or blue screen since installing them. They will probably outlive the machines I put them in so when that time comes, they will be re-purposed to another machine.

> 3 dayExcellent drive for the money! Setup was a breeze using Macrium Reflect software to clone my drive (not included but they offer a free edition for home users). Windows 10 started without any issues at all. The speed is excellent compared to a standard hard disk. A few things to be aware of however: this drive does not include a SATA cable, power adapter, or mounting tray. Check to make sure if you need those first before ordering. Otherwise this is a perfect choice for those upgrading to an SSD and cannot afford a more expensive Samsung drive.

06-06-2025Excellent product! I bought two so I could upgrade both drives in my custom Toshiba Satellite P500. Works like a charm, and am very happy with the boosted performance. Space was another big upgrade - I went from two drives totaling 530 Gb storage space to nearly 2 Tb with this pair. I would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade to SSD. I plan to buy a couple more so I can make the same upgrades in my desktop PCs. Ive always had very good luck with Western Digital products over the years, and these have been no exception! A++!
