I ordered this to add more ram to my Mac Mini and am using the Satechi hub to rest my mac mini on. Its wonderful. I now have an extra 1TB of storage docked under my mac mini.

It was time to upgrade my ancient Dell 690 workstation to a faster and long-lasting SSD. It did improve boot time and access time by a factor of 3. I intentionally bought the WD red version that is durable enough to be used in a server, and I am considering of having a SSD based external backup drive. If not already installed, be sure to buy adapter kits to mount in HHD cages, or in my case to mount to slide-in cassettes used in the Dell 690.

I bought this to replace a Samsung 840 Pro as a cache drive in my FreeNAS build. So far everything is running as smooth as it did before. The temperature of the drive is a little warmer than the old drive. At idle, the old drive sat around 1°C over ambient, this one sits around 5°C over ambient.

2tb SATA M2. It works I cant complain

Popped this into my NVR for use with my home security camera system. Works great and a noticeable speed upgrade from the HDD i was running previously. Will probably pick up a few more and RAID them! Only downside is it doesnt come with mounting screws, but this isnt a huge deal.

Great drives, I paired them as raid 0 as my secondary drive for my desktop

Its slower than the newer drives so you can get OSs to load on it that you have trouble getting to load on some PCs. I an going to load it with what I want then try copping it to a newer faster V-NAND drive. I have a few PCc I can use it with so one of then will get an upgrade when I am done with my current use for it.

Great NAS SSDs which work perfectly in my Synology 1621xs+ NAS.

29 May 2023: A review for two purchased: Western Digital 1TB WD Red SA500 NAS 3D NAND Internal SSD - SATA III 6 Gb/s, 2.5/7mm. Ive had them a couple of months. No problems. Got them to replace two Samsung 870EVOs that died in a little less than 2 years. Samsung has some real problems and it took over 3 months to get replacements under warranty from Samsung. Right after they failed, I switched to these Western Digitals because I have used WD drives since 1994 and in my little life in my little home WD drives have been stellar performers. I have to say that all my past experience with WD has been with spinning platters. I hope these solid state drives are also reliable. Breakneck speeds dont impress me much. I just love good performance for a long, long time. So...the RED line from WD is supposed to be exactly that--constant running over the long haul in devices. Yep. I hope that is true. WD, do it to me again. I need you.
