Makes turning lights and fans on and off more high tech. Can be difficult to establish connection. Make sure your not on 5G and it should work the first time. This is my second purchase of these gadgets. I’ll get more I’m sure.

These units are basic problem is you cannot schedule them like other smart plugs

They work great as long as they are close enough to the WiFi. The lighting that was attached kept cutting off at random intervals. The only solution was to move the WiFi router closer to where I was using the Smart Plugs, no easy task but it worked.

Worked great for about six weeks. Now...they are rather sporadic. They connect with Alexa only when they want and connect with my cell phone in the same manner, only when they wish to do so.

SUPER easy to hookup. I bought 2 sets of these for my Echo and in literally 20mins I had all the christmas stuff on them so when I walk in the door and say Alexa, Merry Christmas everything turns on. before bed I say Alexa, Cancel Christmas and it all gets turned off. I also setup some simpler routines to turn off just certain lights and leave others on etc. these are GREAT. they all basicll work the same, so just shop the deals and read the reviews....some are better than others but they all setup the same prety much, I have 4 of these and one other and they all lace nice all on the same Echo DOT (which is EXACTLY the same as the Echo except it sounds better and mosre bass, but thats it. Dont let anyone tell you different, theyre lying or simply dont know) if you dont need this for powering music etc then save the money and get the dot, if you want it for music get the echo for its louder speaker and bassier sound. Those or the only two differences. NOTHING more. Ive heard all kinds of stuff that Only the Echo allows calling and the DOT doesnt etc. /WRONG...they both do if you have two of them. if you only have one you will NOT have a calling, pging or intercom type of use on either one.

Works OK so far, but this device worries me from a security point of view. Cheap but scary. I disabled all the Android Smart Life apps permissions in Settings->Apps after configuring the device. Why did the app literally need every permission known to man on my Android phone to simply configure the device? What REALLY worries me is the amount of data the device moves to/from The Cloud---constantly. Is it eavesdropping on my local LAN traffic? Or, is it a Trojan Horse waiting for instructions from hackers lurking in the shadows in another country? Over the last 7 days the device downloaded 18 Mbytes and uploaded 135 MBytes of data (see photo)! More than a bit worrisome. The rate has slowed down to ~120 Kbyte/6 MBytes down/up per 24 hour period over the last few days, but what possibly can be going on? I dont want a rogue IOT device in my house participating in botnet shenanigans!

had a lot of trouble setting up, but once up and running works well. However no contact number to call--not even and email address for info. No instructions at all in box.

Not compatible with 5 GHz, but works great on 2.4.

I bought these as a gift for a friend. When I tried to set them up, I found that his Spectrum-installed router had assigned the exact same name to both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands. for some reason, the band selected always defaults to the 5GHz. I was unable to find a way around the issue. I kept them, and they work perfectly on 2.4GHz at my home.

These units are fine so long as you have uninterrupted power. But when the power goes off and on again, these units have to be manually reset. The problem seems to be that if the WiFi router isnt up and running when these units are powered on, they will simply hang until you manually reset them ... sort of defeats the purpose of a smart home when the devices are so idiotic.
