Whats not to like about fingerlings. They are cure little creatures that sit on your finger. That was word for word what my 11 yo daughter said when I asked her to describe what she liked about this newer version of fingerlings. I could potentially get her to focus more but I think the opening quote sums it up pretty good.

My kids wanted to get a pet, but I’m not ready for that kind of commitment yet. My kids enjoy playing with this interactive lion figure set. They say it’s like having a real pet to take care of and play with. This WowWee Fingerlings set comes with 2 adorable lions, Sam and Leo. Sam is the larger lion figure. He is animated, and responds to motion and touch. He blinks his eyes, turns his head, and purrs. His tuft of hair lights up, according to his “mood”. He is able to detect your cheek to give you a “kiss”. Petting him, rocking him, holding him upside down, and kissing him, will elicit different reactions from Sam. You can also rock him to sleep. It’s really cute how he hangs onto your finger, and interacts with you. Sam comes with a mini cub named Leo. Leo is much smaller than Sam. He’s a tiny plastic figure that is not interactive, but he’s very cute and can hang onto Sam’s tail.

As an adult- I havent really figured out why kids love fingerlings so much, but my daughter sure seems to. It is REALLY cute and would make a great gift. Its glittery on the legs, arms and tail, and the hair glows different colors. This one actually comes with a little bonus baby panther. I cant see that the baby does anything- it doesnt seem to interact with the fingerling in any way, but my daughter liked it. (For reference, shes 6). I will say this fingerling seems to have less sensors on it than past ones. Stroking or cupping its head, blowing in its face, and clapping or snapping doesnt seem to do much. I was able to get reactions by rocking it (it looked like it took a nap), swinging it back and forth still makes it laugh. I also didnt find any instructions in mine, so maybe it has new interactions we havent discovered yet.

Very cute, animated lion! Shes a fierce momma lion, and has her baby cub to protect! She lights up, and has a sensor I believe on her forehead! She says hello when you start her up, and makes different lion noises, turns her head, and closes her eyes when you lay her down on her side! Shes super cute, and small enough to carry and entertain in car rides! Definitely cute!

My little one just loves her Fingerlings. This little fella is a baby lion and the look, feel and sounds produced by the tiny toy are just terrific. You can practically hear the lion purr when attached to your finger. The technology is intelligent to the point that the Fingerling makes sounds of sleeping when put in the horizontal or laying down position.

These are cute. I actually gave it to my 4 yr old and shes been fine with it (even though the recommended age is 5+). They make cute little sounds and I like the fact that its not super loud like a lot of other kid toys. The toy has a couple different sensors and reacts according to how its touched and in what position its held. The little hair tuft on top of its head lights up from underneath so you dont have to worry about fiber optics poking you. Its eyes also open/close. The feet are coated in glitter which can be slightly rough when sliding over your finger and you end up with little specks of glitter coming off but its not much. There doesnt seem to be much glitter coming off now. The toy can also hang [with its front feet] on the side of baskets/containers. Overall its a cute toy and my daughter is in love with the bonus mini baby that is included.

I have a children of both genders aged 4 through 12 and they all love Fingerlings. Our current collection consists of monkeys and dinosaurs , a sloth, a dragon and a panda along with play sets for them to live on. The addition of the cat line is brilliant and a huge hit, especially with my 11 year old. These cats are puuuurrrrfectly adorable in my daughters eyes. Where I tend to see the black and white half closed eyes as a drunk skunk, she sees her darling cat with the coy eyelids adding to the cuteness factor. To each his or her own. In general these toys are well constructed -- we have played with our existing ones for almost two years, at least weekly (at one point they served as our table centerpiece) with no breakage or dead batteries. I have no reason to believe this would last any less. The hair does light up different colors, meaning it reminds me less of a skunk when it is actually on an being used. I do find the little kitten cuter although it gets less play time due to not being electronically interactive in any way. There are some minor differences in design when compared to the more common monkeys. When you turn it on (switch is located at the back of the head) it always greets you with a purrry hello. I actually find the babbling chatter and kisses more intelligible than the other Fingerlings. The tail features the same curve which allows you to hang as the monkeys do, but it is shorter and less flexible so it is a little more limiting in that regard. At the same time, the shorter tail allows her to sit without assistance on flat surfaces. Her paws are a different structure so they are perfect for her to hang on things (like the rim of a cup or bowl) but dont stop her from perching on the childs finger as her predecessors can. One plus is that the glitter does not appear to shed. A prior Fingerling (ahem Im talking to YOU unicorn!) shed glitter everywhere and was short lived in my house. A definite plus. All in all, we are an easy sell as my kids love Fingerlings and play with them like other kids play with Barbies. But I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this or purchase it for my nieces myself.

My youngest daughter has several Fingerlings that she loves to play with due to them being Interactive Play. The baby tiger and mini are adorable to add to her collection, and she highly recommends this toy to other Fingerling enthusiasts. This is coming from a child that plays Minecraft and other video games daily, but she loves her Fingerling Interactive Toys. It makes all kinds of noises and the lights make it unique compared to the other Fingerlings. Be prepared for your little one to play with the Fingerling for hours.
