> 24 hourIn my opinion, Yonico makes quality router bits. This one is tricky because 1/16 is such a narrow cut. Its really just a horizontal saw blade. I bought this to install vinyl T-moulding edging in a custom melamine sewing table top. First thing to know is you dont need to make the full depth cut in one pass. Three passes or more works best in my experience. Doing it in one pass builds up WAY too much heat and youll ruin the bit in no time. The cutting teeth are so narrow at 1/16 that the metal disk is almost as thick. I actually wire-brushed the pretty yellow paint off to reduce friction-produced heat. This seems to help, but multiple passes still recommended for a full depth cut. [Edit] In the process of learning the above, I pretty much had ready heat-damaged the bit, making the carrier disk brittle (photo). Working on my second project, one of the teeth snapped off. Cant blame that on mfr. as I clearly mistreated the bit. Ive ordered another and will be more careful this time.

> 24 hourI bought that slotting cutter bit to make custom grooves in square-edge composite boards with a small hand router. It works perfectly for the purpose.

> 24 hourWorks well. you have to be really careful on how aggressive of a cut you make with the bit. Anything more than 1/8” in one pass is asking a lot of the router bit. I had success keeping cuts around 1/16”-1/8” per pass depending on the species of wood.

> 24 hourThis is nice tool but it failed after very little use. The problem is that the cutter is installed upside down so it was running backwards. I didn’t realize the issue until after it overheated and one of the carbide cutters came off.

> 24 hourThe second time I used this bit the 2 teeth flew off half way through cutting a channel in a pine door slab. One inbeded in the wall in front of me, the other shattered the customers window behind me. The only bright side was I didnt end up in the ER getting shrapnel removed from my gut! A few inches to the left and this would go from a bad review to a personal injury lawsuit. This item should be immediately removed from Amazon or any other retailer . Someone is going to get seriously injured or killed by this router bit.

> 24 hourSlotter worked fine in MDF for some t-molding. Remember to keep the speed low and not go too deep. At one point i tried to go nearly 3/4 the max cutting depth and ended up burning off a small section of the paint. Backed it off for the proper t-mold depth and had no issues the rest of the cuts. If you are cutting for more than a couple minutes at a time I would also suggest letting the slotter cool off in between sections. Im not an expert at these tools, but this is what worked well for me.
