Heat lamp has been working great. I have two of these over my blue tongue skink terrarium. Was smaller than I thought it would be when I opened it but they work exactly I expected. I think Ill get a third.

Ive never had a reptile heat lamp before I purchased this and I wavered a lot before deciding to purchase this one (between another Zilla product which is a larger 8 lamp with non-Halogen bulbs). I was worried this one would be too small. My ball pythons terrarium is a 40-breeder. After reading a lot of reviews I went with this one; I purchased two, one for her red (night) bulb and one for her white (day) bulb. I am really pleased with them! They generate a lot of light and heat and are more energy-efficient than traditional lamps. I especially appreciate that these lamps come with the spring clips to secure them to your terrarium - I have a cat, so I appreciate that she cant knock these lamps onto the floor and start a fire. In addition, the lamps stay secure when I need to remove the terrarium lid! I included some pictures so you can see how nice they look. Just a note: if your dome lamp does not include the spring clips, you can and should return or replace it! As I said I ordered two of these and one of them didnt have the spring clips in the box, so I was able to return it and get a replacement shipped to me. The spring clips are essential for the safe use of this lamp!

Honestly, this might be one of the best purchases ive made for my Beardie so far. After having it for a few months, it still works great and I have yet to change the light bulb. Its small, great for when I travel home for the summer and have to bring is furniture with me, and the light bulbs are easy to pack too. It does get very hot! Which is wonderful for me since he has a large cage that needs to be heated up. I personally havent tried the spring system, I have this connected to a lamp holder that also works wonders.

I used the daytime light bulb inside this housing and it isnt any warmer than my regular 40w house light bulb. Also, it doesnt light up the aquarium because it is a very fine pinpoint of light. Hopefully it at least lasts a long time.

I absolutely love these. They are small, powerful, and economical. They are low profile and have a fairly good variety of bulb options as well.

Great little light fixture. I have the small 25w bulb and it works great in it. (if you have a cage top and use the hooked attachment. poke the hook dull side first and it will grab when it pulls out)- kind of like a fish hook.

Perfect for creating a basking spot in a smaller enclosure. I use mine - 3 of them - in a semi rain forest enclosure that quite large. This allows strategically placed basking spots without drying out the moss or killing the plants.

My turtle loves to bask under it! He stretches out his legs and just knocks out... he cracks me up!
