I bought this because my turtles need light and that can help as a support for my light bulb. My tank is 20 gallons and it fits perfectly. My turtles are now safer. I love the fact that it has a small door so i can grab and feed my turtles whenever i want and it is big enough. I really recommend this item!!!

I got this to keep small feeder insects in their tank, but still be able to feed them easily. Somehow the crafty little buggars still get out... My next idea is to sew a wire screen mesh on the inside, to help contain the tinier critters. Otherwise, its been a great lid. Just be ready to do some extra work if youre trying to contain pinhead crickets, or baby madagascar hissing roaches. Its perfect, and more than adequate for everything else.

This is perfect for my crested gecko grow-out tank. I like the little latch on the door that allows me easy access. Wish it came with clips but hey, its better than the large kritter keeper he was in

Definitely measure your tank before you buy. Im glad I got a little bit bigger of a top than my actual tank because it is snug and fits perfectly so if I got the same size it would not fit.

The screen top does not fit snugly on a 10 gallon tank. The corners are open to allow wire passage, which is convenient, but unless you cut a gap and seal it well, in a plastic framed tank, the corner of the cover remains open, allowing an escape passage. The screen access door, when closed, has a small gap all around it. Hatchling lizards will be able to escape. My hatchling green anoles have escaped though these gaps. Also, a 25 watt daylight bulb has warped the screen after 12 hrs of use. Overall, after modifications, it will work well. I was not pleased because a company as large as Zilla should have had the engineering foresight to make these modifications for you.

30 dollars isnt a lot, and yet it still seems to far exceed the quality of this product. Its flimsy with large gaps around the small door, and definitely not going to be able to contain my Madagascar hissing cockroaches unless I make some serious modifications to it. If this company put just a LITTLE more into the actual quality of its manufacturing, it would be a great product, but they have fallen quite short.

This was perfect for my tank, the lock on the top is super sturdy so if was keeping a snake in there I wouldnt be concerned at all. Although I use it for a leopard gecko that could not reach the top of the tank even if he REALLY tried the sturdiness is still appreciated lol The opening is also larger than other screens I have looked at and since my gecko is a chunky wiggly baby the extra space to get him out is very helpful.
