contacted seller and they responded right away they gave me my money back amd said just throw it away with another thing i ordered that was cracked at the bottom. I decided to use it and so far no escapes and still fits on the tank. not planing to buy another since it seems to work and love being able to go into the cage without taking the top off. had to throw the other thing away because the humidifier leaked.

We bought this to replace a previous one that we had. The small break in the screen is great for getting the critter out without having to worry about it jumping/climbing out! The reason this gets three stars is that the first iteration we got, the latch for the door in the lid broke after less than a year (when it wasnt even in continuous use as we upgraded our first corn snake to a larger tank and then eventually got a new corn snake for the small tank... because thats how this is supposed to work, right?). Overall, it was worth us buying again, but I wish that the latch were sturdier and that it hadnt broken in the first place!

Fairly heavy screen. Like the the door locks under the lip of our tank.

Purchased this for our 3 hermies mainly to deter my 3yr old from getting at them. I also purchased the locking clips but have not used them yet because my son doesnt mess with the lid. This does not keep the humidity in which i didnt figure it would. My solution was to tape plastic wrap on the underside. I covered everything thing except the door, and the humidity is perfect while still allowing fresh air in. I do agree that the door does not sit flush, the right corner sits up more creating a little gap which really doesnt matter to me because we have hermit crabs. If you had crickets in there, they might escape.

The ability to open the top with out having to remove the lid completely is very convenient

If you have a terrarium/vivarium with the plans to use lamps, you will want a screen top with a hinge. This is metal, not plastic, & is holding 2 lamps with no issues. It is perfect!

I really like the screen cover with the door! Yes, the door could fit a bit better, but I just make sure its closed correctly....it isnt real sturdy, but its liveable. My anole cant get out now when I feed his crickets! Thank you!
