Zilla Terrarium Heat Mats Black Small, 10-20 Gallon, 8 Watt

I bought one of these for my royal python after his heat lamp shorted out. I did a little research and heating pads were often listed in preference to heat lamps, so I thought Id give it a try. I cant speak for every brand, but these ones were absolute crap. It didnt heat my terrarium (or my poor snake), the adhesive doesnt stick and fell off at least once a day, and lastly, this item is completely impossible to return. They advertise on their site as providing refunds if you are not satisfied with their product, but have absolutely no means by which you can reach them. I called three times and left three voicemails, I sent two emails (both directly and through amazon), and I attempted to call the company headquarters. No response. Very unprofessional. Complete waste of $25. So not only does this product suck and put both you and your pet through stress, youre stuck with it.

If you want a heat mat that actually sticks to your terrarium then dont get this !! This mat stayed on my terrariums for a day and then fell off with the sticky stuff still on the terrarium!! I bought two and they both resulted in the same way. Get another brand instead of wasting your time returning these.

somehow broke so all the heat was going to 1 particular spot on the mat. was super concentrated heat and burned my hand a little when i touched it for just one second. lasted around a year but still very dangerous and cod have hurt my pet

It works great as long as you use a thermostat with it. It gets extremely hot can can burn your animal. So please youse a thermostat.

Its well made, fast ship and well packaged, however the website description did not way anything about requiring a glass aquarium. So I had to return it. But that was easy too thanks to Amazon.

I dont know if I got a defective one or not. Plugged it in for several days and it got warm enough to where it wasnt cold to the touch, but the thing doesnt heat at all. Wont heat the surface its stuck on, and certainly cant be felt through bedding/substrate. I fully regret spending the money.

The glue doesnt hold the heat pad to the tank. I have had to use duct tape to get it to hold and have to check that it hasnt fallen daily. I will not purchase it again

Gets very hot but perfect if connected to a thermostat.

Be careful when pulling off the little cover before sticking it, it had pulled the adhesive straight off the actual mat but luckily I noticed pretty quick. It does heat well and it was a good deal for the size compared to pet stores. The adhesive doesnt seem very good at least for tubs as I had to tape it a few days after putting it on.
