> 3 dayThis cutting mat has two sides, so it will last longer, especially if rotated after each use. I chose the 12 by 18 inch style because it fits easily on a desk or table top leaving space for utensils and free movement. This improves safety while in use. Lines are designated on both sides and improve accuracy while cutting. The product is made to self-heal; a great advantage for use over time. Mine has shown to self-heal already. it is a fine quality product at a fair price. I recommend it highly. Cathy

> 3 dayThis is a excellent product. Its self healing qualities are very good. I used it to cut cotton squares for a queen size quilt. I found that if I used the soft brush tool on my vacuum cleaner to clear the fabric scraps and dust off the mat before cleaning with a damp sponge the mat looked like it was brand new after cleaning. The size of the mat and the measurements on the mat were perfect for my project.

> 3 dayGot this as a gift for my mom who enjoys quilting and needed a bigger self healing mat. This is really a great deal and fairly priced! She gives it 5 stars because its a great clean surface to work on and cut her quilts. Thank you for this product!

> 3 dayWhat a great cutting mat! I was having a lot of difficulty in cutting thick paper. This mat makes the knife blade cut easily and also seals itself after cutting. Mat is actually 10 1/2 x 13 5/8 x 1/8 thick. The cutting area of 9 x !2 is what is described in the title. The cutting area on the mat has a printed ruler around the border in 1/8 increments with 1/2 squares on the mat. The cutting surface is the same on both sides.Various angles 30, 45, 60 and 90 are also printed on the mat.

> 3 dayThe lines are there to ‘square’ your fabric cutting. I use this item to cut fabric. I see the vertical and horizontal lines to confirm cutting the line in a square. The bias line can also be seen.

> 3 dayMy husband got me this to cut stained glass on. I waited to leave a review until I had used it. For my purposes it works great. A glass cutter does not leave deep cuts on a mat most of the time, as its only meant to score the glass, its not supposed to cut all of the way through but its nice to have just in case and provides a nice work space, while protecting my craft table. I appreciated the follow up from the company with clear instructions on how to care for my cutting mat, I might have stored it improperly otherwise. I did not notice a strong odor with my purchase as others have noted but I am not sensitive to smells, with all of the chemicals I use in making glass and jewelry pieces, I really cant be picky about it, so I have no advice on that. If I were not using it for one specific purpose I can see it being useful for other things, such as trimming metal, paper and assembling models. I think this is a great product for any crafter.
