Received timely and in great shape. I am impressed with this Matt. I use it for Cutting Quilting squares. Nice to have the 1/2 inches marked also. It has a great fell as I am cutting. I can tell by the feel when I have gotten through all the layers of the fabric. I stays nicely on the counter also and has a rubber feel, my old larger matt is more of a plastic fell and will slide. I will probable purchase a larger one of these as a replacement, but would like to see them add a handle to the top so it can be hung up when not in use.

After airing the product out and following instructions to clean the mat its working great and the smell has faded. I appreciate the seller reaching out to me immediately to share the instructions again to solve my original concern, I would have def needed them if they were thrown out by accident (keeping on file!) :). Very happy and pleased with this mat, the size and the quality. Thank you! My review is based on smell, wow! Its strong! I kept ours in plastic until I can air out or do as it suggests, clean in vinegar from time to time to restore its newness. Ive had these in the past for art classes and have aired them out just fine. Hope I can air this one out just the same because the smell is awful. Large mat, were excited to put it to use. No complaints otherwise, quick delivery and came with instructions on how to care for it.

I bought this with the hope of protecting the top of my workbench when Im cutting balsa or covering materials. My wife who is an avid quilter suggested it for me. Im not sure how long it will last but its pretty cool the way it self heals! Ive also found that the various lines on the mat come in handy. No negatives to report thus far.

Its a festive thing of beauty that does what its supposed to. I hate when things dont work right but hey! -- this one does. I bought this rust remover once and I took the rust off this old toolbox and I followed the directions even they were baffling, but the rust was gone . . . LET ME FINISH . . . until the next day when it was back in a fine little rust layer! Overnight it rusted! What the heck. So no, this cutting mat isnt like that. Ive cut numerous things on it, and, with each cut, I sigh a sigh of joy and contentment. And isnt that what life is all about?

Works as expected. Looks great, appears accurate, easy to clean. Cost was less than those sold in retail stores. Finally made the transition to rotary cutting and am loving it so far.

I saw reviews before purchasing claiming the mat is not self-healing. However, it is. The product is not magic. There will be marks, but the product is designed to not be as cut up by the mat expanding a little bit to push the cuts together to make it appear as if there are no cuts (although the cut is still there). If you dig/cut in hard, of course the mat will not be able to self-heal as well as if you cut regularly; same as if you cut on this mat for a long time. For what it is, it works extremely well. There was a slight smell out of box, but after airing out it was fine. I would recommend the product.

Before i purchased i read the reviews for this, the good and the bad. I have to say, i have had no problem with damaging the mat. i had to cut a painted fabric this weekend which took more pressure cutting through the material and the mat held up beautifully. So much better than my old plastic mat that was cut up and starting to snag on delicate and knit materials. Ive had the mat a few weeks now and i love it, its well worth the money and better than others i have used.

I do a lot of work with utility knives and exacto-type knives in making costumes. This particular mat is REALLY tough and resistant to nicks and tears. The surface is impermeable enough to quickly clean up glue scrapes. What is great (and I didnt expect) is how easily this rolls when I want to store it. Suggestion for improvement: this mat has angles measured and separate graduations at inches and half-inches; it would have been great if metric units were included. When in use, it is the base for my craft workstation, and it is of course, recommended.
