> 3 dayUsing this to match up a PS5 controller to a switch : This thing works like bluetooth works in TV ads. press the one button, turn on the controller, boom, were good to go. Honestly a blessing, symmetrical sticks + totk feel so much better than joycons.

> 3 dayI bought a switch pro controller and returned it because the joysticks had a bad clicking sound that we didn’t like. We had a Bluetooth Xbox controller sitting around for use with games on our Apple TV and I wanted to give this a try. For $19 we are now using our Xbox controller on our switch. The provided paper directions were really easy. Go on your computer and download their software. Plug this into your computer, choose your controller and follow the instructions to sync the 8bitdo to your controller after you use the software to update the firmware. Once it syncs, you can go and plug the 8bitdo into your switch. Use your other switch controller in settings to enable pro controller “wired communications”. I just had to turn my Xbox controller off and then back on and it synced. When going to the switch settings under “change grip order” I was able to push L and R and the controller came right up. You can use the Xbox controller to put the switch to sleep by pushing the lit button on the controller (this is now the home button). You can’t wake the switch up with the controller (you just use the switch power button), but as soon as the switch is on if you turn the controller on it syncs quickly. So far really happy with this.

Greater than one weekHavent always been a fan of 8bitdo but despite that, I will be as rational as possible. This 8bitdo adapter pairs pretty easily to some controllers and thats pretty great on their part. However. For my own use case, I wanted to pair specifically a Wii U pro controller to my Nintendo Switch. Ive tried everything and scoured every video, but nothing. Im convinced the version 2 is different than the first iteration, but either way the console receives zero input. I will be refunding this and would I recommend it? Personally no. This was my last hope and Ive decided to pick up another controller since this does not work for me.

> 3 dayShort answer: It works great! I paired this with my PS4 controller and played one round of Naruto ultimate storm 4 and I was happy with it. If youre wondering how the buttons translate from switch to PS4, here it is: > Options is + > Share is - > PS button is Home > Touchpad is Screenshot Some additional notes from further testing: This adaptor and the conneceted controller CANNOT turn the switch on but, thats not a big deal to me. I can turn the switch on with another controller and then turn on my connected PS4 controller which connects to the adaptor (instantly by the way) and just rearrange the connection order. Didnt notice any lag and the gyroscope works (i tested this on Pokemon Arceus) Lastly, I noticed with my 8bitdo controller ($50) that the joystick and button inputs lag when i have bluetooth earphones connected to the switch. With this adaptor, theres no lag.

Greater than one weekI plugged it into the dock and the lights all worked and was able to get my Xbox one x controller to connect to the dongle itself but it would never be recognized by the switch and I couldnt control anything.

> 3 dayThis review is for the new (Amazon date first available 12/6/2021, version 2) “8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter 2”. Short version: Confirmed, as of 1/20/2022, the new “8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter 2” completely supports Xbox Series X|S controllers in Bluetooth BLE wirelessly on Nintendo Switch. Bluetooth pairing is under 3 seconds. Reconnection is about 2 seconds after the initial pairing. No lag from what I could experience. All buttons, including the new Share button, can be remapped by using 8bitdo Ultimate Software. However, profile needs to be reactivated every time Switch wake up from sleep. Which is a bit troublesome. Long version: I have been using four 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ and Pro2 controllers on my two Nintendo Switches for almost two years. SN30 Pro’s are great controllers. 8bitdo has great after sale support especially frequent firmware upgrades to fix problems. Things changed over Thanksgiving time. I bought my first Metrodvania 2D side scroll platform game, Ori and the Will of the Wisps. The left stick of SN30 pro2 hurt my left thumb after long play because of its position. BTW, I am 60 years old, most players are younger than me and most likely won’t have my problem. I also have four Playstation 4 controllers but they have the same left stick position. Xbox controller should help because left stick is on top and closer to edge so my left thumb does not have to extend wide as on the SN30 Pro2 and Dualshock4. Bought a Xbox Series X|S controller over black Friday sale from COSTCO and discovered it does not work with the Mayflash Magic-NS and Magic-N I already have. Though Mayflash adaptors claimed they work with all Xbox controllers. Later found out this was because Xbox Series controllers now use Bluetooth BLE instead of the Classic mode. I spent days researching and couldn’t find much information other than everybody just reported how they couldn’t use Xbox series control on Switch. BTW, there are cumbersome or expensive (more than $30) way to do it but I don’t want to either use two adapters in serial, nor pay more than $30 to buy another adaptor, so this new Xbox Series controller can only be used to play Dolphin emulator games on PC. BTW, it works great with Dolphin emulator on PC. I regain hope after reading someone in different item review on Amazon mentioned the 8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter 2 works with his Xbox Series controller. I decided to give it one more try. I don’t want to bore you with how difficult is was for me to finally receive this adaptor 14 days after ordering with Prime shipping, just hope your purchase experience will be easier than mine. Today I am playing Ori on switch with Xbox Series X|S controller WIRELESSLY. Happy ending.

> 3 dayFor this so I could connect my Switch to an Xbox wireless controller. You do need to connect it to your computer first, update the firmware, then 1click setup to program it for the Switch. Then just leave it plugged into a switch side usb port and the Xbox wireless controller will connect each time you boot up.

> 3 dayXbox Elite controllers dont work fully over bluetooth unless with the Xbox Wireless Adapter apparently. As a result, this product supports the controller as well as it can-- but it cannot support the backpaddles. Youd need the Xbox Wireless Adapter, or to connect the controller via a cable. Otherwise the product works fine, I noticed no input delay and pairing was easy. I am returning this though since the whole reason I bought an Elite controller was for the backpaddles, and Ill just stick to the wired connection for now. To be absolutely clear-- the issue is with the Xbox accessories app that wont recognize the controller unless over a cable or their own wireless adapter. I do think that this should be a disclaimer next to the message about supporting the Elite controllers though.

> 3 dayThis is easy to use and the software gives plenty of customization options. The connection after sleeping is quick. The only small drawback for Nintendo Switch users is that two dongles cannot fit side by side in the OLED dock. I solved this by using a USB extension cable. It’s not the cleanest solution but it works.
