Had zero issues connecting like others had stated in the reviews. Purchased to connect my sons Xbox one controller to our new switch so we all could play Mario cart. Plugged in the back of switch and connected the controller with zero problems. If you are looking to save money instead of buying another switch controller, I would definitely recommend going this route!

I mean, every dongle covers usb ports on either side and even above and below if it’s tight! So I’ve got to get a separate usb hub to plug other stuff in but don’t even have room to plug it in! Ugh, rant over, it’s fine with my pro controller on pc and odroid n2+. If you’ve got to make it so big make it longer not wider like the Xbox dongle.

Whats great about this adapter is you can practically use any controller with the Switch. My go-to is the PS5 DualSense controller. My two problems with it are (1) its a bit big, and (2) the 8Bitdo ultimate software does not allow for held button macros, which makes macros for most things useless (so cant do a long jump macro in Mario Odyssey). If they made it half the size, similar to the 8Bitdo Ultimate controllers 2.4ghz adapter and made macros more usable it would be 5 stars. Another issue that cropped up is after the last PS5 update I could no longer pair my PS5 DualSense controller. They did end up fixing it would a firmware update after about a week. So if you run into that issue, make sure you download their firmware updater.

Got one of these for Hogwarts legacy to relax and play on my TV with my PS4 controller. Set up was easy once you find the directions online and it works awesome, so well I got another. Only issue is finding the right directions for setup online as theyre a bit confusing to find.

Albeit it being the same kind of structure as the 1st gen apart from some improvements in the signal and now being able to take Xbox Controllers. I still feel this is a good step in the right direction for this device. With the 1st Gen I had on occasion disconnects from supported controllers on PC. Consoles it was working fine no disconnects. With the Gen 2 I no longer have an issues with them. Make sure to update it to the latest firmware. I paid about 16.99 + tax for this on a Lightning deal which do come often for this device. Add it to your wishlist and keep an eye on the sales! Works great with PC and other devices

I bought a switch pro controller and returned it because the joysticks had a bad clicking sound that we didn’t like. We had a Bluetooth Xbox controller sitting around for use with games on our Apple TV and I wanted to give this a try. For $19 we are now using our Xbox controller on our switch. The provided paper directions were really easy. Go on your computer and download their software. Plug this into your computer, choose your controller and follow the instructions to sync the 8bitdo to your controller after you use the software to update the firmware. Once it syncs, you can go and plug the 8bitdo into your switch. Use your other switch controller in settings to enable pro controller “wired communications”. I just had to turn my Xbox controller off and then back on and it synced. When going to the switch settings under “change grip order” I was able to push L and R and the controller came right up. You can use the Xbox controller to put the switch to sleep by pushing the lit button on the controller (this is now the home button). You can’t wake the switch up with the controller (you just use the switch power button), but as soon as the switch is on if you turn the controller on it syncs quickly. So far really happy with this.
