I have two of these now, first gen and this second gen. Both work flawlessly, I have one bound to a PS4 and the other to a PS5 controller. The advantage to this is that games that use the Xbox Windows driver work when the Playstation controllers would otherwise not be recognized. Secondly I noticed that both controllers have jitter on both stick axes on both controllers when connected via USB or Bluetooth (very strange and could be construed as stick drift). However, both controllers do not have this behavior when bound to the 8bitdo, could be the adaptor somehow buffers/smooths these out around deadzone and discards the jitter information. Make sure you download the configuration software from their website to configure your controller correctly. I did run into a problem with this Gen 2 when it tried to update the firmware from the Ultimate Software, the controller would no longer be recognized and the adaptor had a flashing green light (this behavior apparently happens if you press the bind button when inserting into the USB port which I did not do and think the Firmware update from the Ultimate software failed) and I thought I may have to return it. However, if this happens to you download the separate Upgrade Tool from their site and run it, this forced a firmware update and problem was solved. Their documentation can use some improvement especially is the above happens since I could not find this information anywhere! Recommended, great product (their SN30 pad is great too)!

If youre using this on a Raspberry Pi 4b, the form blocks off access to the adjacent port. It would be perfect if it was slimmer.

I bought the USB Adapter 2 variant (the black one) and it immediately paired my PS5 controller to my PC. I already owned the old USB Adapter 1 (red) variant, and its always done a great job pairing my PS4 controller, but I noticed my PS5 controller wasnt pairing. I assume this is because the Bluetooth technology in the new controllers has progressed. In any event, the USB Adapter 2 did the job immediately. I plugged it into my PC, pressed the pairing button, put my PS5 controller into pairing, and bam, done. No finagling around with Windows Bluetooth settings. No worrying about connection strength. Pairing is immediate and the Bluetooth connection is rock solid. I spent two hours today playing Need for Speed: Unbound from my PC chair while paired to the USB Adapter 2. The design of the device itself is charming and attractive. Its clever that 8BitDo swapped out the red bricks from the first Super Mario level for the darker bricks of the cave to differentiate the two products. Its simple, it works great, no fuss, no muss. Cant ask for more than that.

Its a little complicated to set up, but comes with basic instructions to get you to the website where you can follow step by step to pair with the controller. You have to download some software and to do that youll probably have to change some computer settings. I ended up watching a video just so I knew exactly what to do, but the website does give all the instructions. Took a little bit to set up, but it was worth it.

I use this to play on my PC. It let me use my current Xbox controllers instead of buying a pricy one that has a USB adaptor with it. Great way to save some money and use the controllers you already have.

Short answer: It works great! I paired this with my PS4 controller and played one round of Naruto ultimate storm 4 and I was happy with it. If youre wondering how the buttons translate from switch to PS4, here it is: > Options is + > Share is - > PS button is Home > Touchpad is Screenshot Some additional notes from further testing: This adaptor and the conneceted controller CANNOT turn the switch on but, thats not a big deal to me. I can turn the switch on with another controller and then turn on my connected PS4 controller which connects to the adaptor (instantly by the way) and just rearrange the connection order. Didnt notice any lag and the gyroscope works (i tested this on Pokemon Arceus) Lastly, I noticed with my 8bitdo controller ($50) that the joystick and button inputs lag when i have bluetooth earphones connected to the switch. With this adaptor, theres no lag.

I wasn’t sure how well it would work on the Switch even though most reviews are positive. This thing works and is awesome. I couldn’t bring my self to buy another controller $70 for the Switch when I already have multiple controllers for my Xbox series. I plugged it in, synced the controller and it was up and running, no problem. Connection is great, you would never know it’s not a controller made for the Switch.

I really enjoy this product. This adapter works with most Bluetooth controllers like, PS4/5, Xbox Series Controllers, etc. This also works in handheld mode if you have a USB-A to USB-C adapter. This is a money saver because why buy a controller for that console and only use it on that console if you have multiple controller that are compatible with this adapter. Once again this is a wonderful product and I highly recommend for people who are not comfortable with the Nintendo Pro Controller // Joycons and looking for an in-expensive way to play the Nintendo Switch.
