> 3 dayFirat off, the steel box is nice looking and fits perfectly on top of my avr. That being said... for 100+ bones... is designed to two things.. Measure current temp and adjust fan speed accordingly. As I write this review my room is 68 degrees measured from 3 different devices and yet the AC unit displays 73 deg F. Would be nice to be able to at least calibrate the probe since. If it is off this much just sitting in my room how much is it off while its on top of the AVR??

> 3 dayI have this on top of a home theater receiver to extract the hot air generated by the receiver. The receiver temp was at 95 degrees without the fan. When the fan came on, within 10 minutes, the temp dropped to 84 degrees and the unit is very quiet. Does not interfere with tv listening .

> 3 dayI rated this system 5 stars for noise level but you can hear it if there isnt much audio playing. Still it has multiple fans & does a good job of cooling the amplifier in a cabinet that is enclosed except for a back that has ventilation slots. It also displays your set point, the alarm point & current operating temperature.

> 3 dayAttractive, compact and very quiet ventilator sitting atop my Yamaha AV Receiver that “keeps its cool”. Set on 87 degrees on the “smart” auto setting, it maintains the setting by varying the fan speeds, even in a cabinet with limited openings and an ambient temp of 82 inside the cabinet. Settings are illuminated and easy to change, although the manual is a little sketchy on setting the “smart” range. Fits perfectly on top of a 17” AVR and draws air through it, exhausting to the back. Other exhaust configurations are available. Note when comparing noise levels a slightly higher dB can be significant since the scale is logarithmic! Possible to stack a Blu-ray player on top since it exhausts to the rear.

> 3 dayI have this devise inside a cabinet set to auto. When it kicks in, I have to rise the volume on my system to drown out the blower noise. This device is nice looking, pretty easy to setup, good material, but quiet it is not.

Greater than one weekIt looks good and it does a satisfactory cooling the receiver with 3 fans. The display shows the temperature and other information to keep it running at the settings that are set manually.
