> 3 dayPhoto is exactly what it looks like but it didn’t cool off my small space. I watered down the filter and froze it and it still didn’t help. Had to go back to me window ac unit

17-04-2025After about ten minutes the device collected water on the vents. As you see I had to put a towel under it to catch the water.

> 3 dayI use this product primarily to keep myself cool while at my desk. I put ice cubes and water in it and it blows cold air in my face while Im working and its wonderful. It lowers the temperature of the air noticably and is superior to a fan. I hadnt used a swamp cooler before so take it from me: Dont use it in a closed room without ventilation. The main negatives are that it tends to make a mess on occasion if you use it for long periods. I havent spent much time troubleshooting it, but I suspect that if you use it on the Turbo setting, or use it with the maximum water flow and a low airflow setting, that a large amount of condensation develops, overfilling the shallow internal well and creating a pool of water around the bottom of the unit. This is a modest design flaw that I wish they highlighted in the manual. I am planning on designing my own pedestal for it to compensate for this.

> 3 dayExactly that. Other small evaporative coolers including the previous generation have not had a water puddling issue but this one does. You essentially need to put it on a tray and keep it way from sensitive furniture, art, flooring etc. Poor engineering in my book.

> 3 dayComparing the negative reviews to the positive reviews to my own experience, its pretty clear that most of the people giving this thing a bad review didnt realize what they were actually buying. This will NOT air condition your entire house. Its basically just a small fan that blows colder air than a regular fan at you. Like regular fans, that means will not cool off your entire house or apartment, but it will keep the area in front of it cool. And its amazing! We put it on the ottoman in front of the couch while watching tv, and having a regular floor fan behind us with this thing in front was way cooling, much better than the fan by itself. Its not going to replace an actual air conditioner on a super hot day, but its got just enough cooling power to be really helpful if you cant use an a/c (maybe because you live in an apartment and technically arent allowed to have one, or you cant afford to buy one because yiiiiikes theyre expensive). But its really helpful for if a fan just isnt enough to cool you down. Also because of its small size, I find I prefer using it to fans when its a little cooler out. Sometimes fans are obnoxious, theyre loud, they blow things over, but this little thing doesnt have the blowing power to knock all your papers off your desk like a big floor fan does. I like to just have it on the ottoman blowing on my propped-up feet. Its supreme. I see some people complaining about how you cant turn the lights off, but you can. You need to keep hitting the light button, you have to cycle through all the light options but theres an off option at the end of them. The lights that indicate what settings are on dont turn off, but theyre really minor - like, they arent really bright. I especially like that this thing is small enough that it wont be hard to store somewhere in winter when it presumably wont be needed, unlike those big oscillating fans which are awkward to find a place for. Cons: On the highest settings its kind of noisy, but its a steady noise level so its easy to learn to tune out and turn the tv volume up over. Also the plug for it gets EXTREMELY hot after its been on. I dont think its necessarily a fire hazard, but I would give it a few minutes after you turn it off before you unplug it from the wall. All in all, if you know what to expect from this little guy, you will really enjoy it and appreciate it. Dont go into this thinking its a $35 air conditioner that will put your entire home into the arctic circle. It will give a nice cold blast to the area about 6 feet in front of it, which cools more efficiently than a fan but isnt as effective as an actual air conditioner. This guy is an air *cooler*. Side note: Youre encouraged to put ice cubes in the fill thing, and it can take an entire tray of ice cubes to fill it up!

Greater than one weekFirst off - this isn’t an air conditioner, it’s a swamp cooler - that is spun air going over iced water. So it does throw off a cooler burst of air than a dry fan. It’s small but operates admirably. It’s powered by a USB cable that is only about 14” long. I had to buy a longer one. The bad: It’s cheap plastic and one of my vents was broken. It leaks and so you need to put a towel under it. It’s powered by a USB but it’s not chargeable. It has to be connected to power. So in-all it’s okay. I got one for a van and to be used with a fan to create a cooler breeze. It’s fine. It was cheap after-all. I’d return it but is was only $30 and would be a hassle to repack. I wanted to note the good and bad for future buyers.

Greater than one weekOur AC failed on a 100+ degree day. You can imagine trying to get service at this time. These were available for same day delivery. I expected something like a mini swamp cooler, but it is not! It has two little mist-makers that a small fan blows over. The cartridge is not a wetted filter ala swamp cooler -- it is a set of felt-like sponges that the wetted air blows by, not through. They will soak up some of the mist. The directions say you can pre-wet them and freeze them for added cooling. We did not try that. Heads up #1: It cools by evaporation --- if you are living in a humid place, it wont help you any more than a fan! Heads up #2 is the water. I suggest you use distilled/ purified water. Because it is a mister, it can fail due to minerals/ sediments plugging the tiny orifices. ( I suspect many of the quite working reviews are related to that.) Also, tap water minerals will give you a fine dust as the water evaporates. If you have a lung condition, you DO NOT want to add fine particles to your air. Heads up #3: Look carefully and make sure you have all the tape removed. I have one louver that will not adjust because I broke it due to tape. Heads up #4: Whatever you set it on will get wet-- so be careful of your particle board furniture/floors. Setting the louvers slightly up will help with the front drips. I note that one reviewer added a drip catcher to theirs as a fix. There will still be leakage from inside. The manufacturer failed to provide a pan feature at the bottom of the device. We are using those cheap plasticware covers (ala tupperware) to set them on. I suppose you could use a cookie sheet, foil, plasticwrap, etc for the same purpose. Another reviewer used this for the purpose https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007PKH3E4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Bottom Line -- I am happy with them (we bought 2). They kept us reasonably comfortable til our AC got a temporary band-aid. The outside fan motor was going out on thermal protection- which lead to the compressor stopping due to high pressure. We are waiting on a replacement motor that is Mojave rated. If the existing motor burns up before the new one arrives, we are OK with these little units!!

> 3 dayWe bought this for our RV to help us stay cool at night. Most RV parks that dont have full hookups will not allow you to run your Generator after 10pm so I thought this would just help keep the room cold after hours, but nope we didnt feel a thing and on top of that had water running down the counter in the RV. I tried cold water with ice and freezing the filter. Still nothing. Turns out its just white noise at night. Mine actually stopped working for about 5 days, I was about to throw it out and it magically came back on. But still not cooling a small lil RV for 2. Of course I have passed my return date. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE REVIEWS. this is not good for even a lil small RV.
