Although it is not a a/c unit ,it does a great job blowing cool air.a touch better than a fan, it has surprised me by doing much more.

Not going to cool a whole room but if you freeze the pad it definitely helps keeps a personal bubble of coolness for a good amount of time

Works for small spaces like next to a bed or on your desk and nothing more. A few things to note: 1. Will not work if the air is already humid. Might as well use a normal desk fan if you live anywhere with high humidity. 2. It leaks. A lot. Maybe put it on something that will retain the water from condensation so it wont get all over your furniture. 3. Use filtered water only. Tap water may damage the misters due to clogging from minerals. Using tap water also may cause it leave a nasty looking white film on the filter and even on anything in the direction of the airflow. 4. Its pretty loud while its being run at full power. Its whisper quiet claim can only apply to its lowest setting. 5. Cheap plastic EVERYWHERE. Do not drop, as it will likely not survive.

So 2.0 version is quieter, but this is only due to the fact that the fan on high is no longer as strong. High is now equivalent to LOW on the version prior. Also, there STILL is no option to turn the lights OFF! There is a night light that still shines in my eyes at night on my nightstand, keeping me awake. The other lights are even brighter than the previous version. We dont need to pay an extra $20 for a fan that barely blows and fancy lights that blind ya. Also, the air filter felt is less than half the other versions. I have allergies, and when though this is just a fancy fan, I NEED the air filter. Stick to the ORIGINAL version and price!

I had bought this for my husband who is an over the road truck driver because his bunk air conditioning went out in his truck. I dont know if he will want to deal with soaking the filter in water and then filling it up with water but if hes hot enough, I guess he will. I tried it out in the downstairs of our house which is roughly 1,000 square feet. I had our downstairs central air set on 73° and I turned on the Artic Air in the kitchen, after soaking the filter in water, then placing it in the freezer for about thirty minutes, then filling the artic air with cold refrigerated water. After about twenty minutes, it had the temperature in our kitchen down to 69°. I have a picture of the thermometer in the picture. The top number is the outside temperature with the humidity amount and the bottom number is the inside temperature with the inside humidity amount. I was impressed with the way the little machine worked but I honestly dont think my husband will want to go through all of the steps necessary to make it work the best but it would definitely do the job if he does decide to use it!!

Believe me I know and understand HVAC, I purchased this unit because the marking guy made it sound more powerful than it really is. I tried using ICE and very little water and vice versa, It cools a small space directly around it...Approx 5ft. but will not cool a SUV where you could leave your dog in it even for a short time. The unit is quality but has very limited cooling capacity.

I’ve bought third-party knockoff versions of arctic air evaporator coolers that operated 10 times better than this damn thing, it offers cooling air yes but it leaks water all over the place. It’s truly a badly designed unit that I cannot recommend.

I bought this to aid in cooling down an extremely small bedroom - cannot fit more than a queen sized bed and two nightstands in it, only to shimmy yourself around to get to the bathroom - because the summer heat in Arizona is cray cray. Loved that it would be delivered same day (Metropolitan area for the win!). Had this little baby in 2 hours or less - and immediately opened it to set it up in said bedroom. Instructions suggest cartridge to be frozen. Well, that was a bummer; looks like I had to wait (story of my life). I soaked the cartridge, according to directions, and placed into freezer. Everything was ready for prompt usage in the am. Next morning, I woke up, did my shimmy shimmy around the bottom of the bed, and in a blink of an eye, fed the cats and made my coffee. I took the cartridge out of the freezer and inserted it into my new Artic Air Godsend. Turned it on, and waited for the cool blast that would signal the end of hell itself....and waited....and waited......nothing. Sure, it was cool, sure there was a faint trickle of air escaping the vents, but nothing like advertised; I think I breathe harder walking to the front door. I thought, maybe its just in the wrong place...after all, isnt it all about location location location? I placed the Artic Air so the air flow would be directed across the bed. And waited again (I think you can see a pattern emerging here). Still nothing. Then I remembered...Good Things Come To Those Who Wait.....I left the room, watched an episode of Enterprise (worse theme song ever! I WILL fight you on that) and returned with renewed hope. Nothing changed. I could see condensation forming on the vents so knew it had some temperature change but it definitely did not change the temperature in the room. I even thought it may have just needed a little help, after all, we get by with a little help from our friends, right? I placed a fan next to it, to give it a little more umphh, and STILL NOTHING!!!!! My heart sank, for the devil himself would be hard pressed to remain in this room during the day. In conclusion, this is not a buy I would recommend - save yourself the grief and buy a window AC unit. I know I am.
