Overall, the laptopis very nice, with a good screen, cool backlight keyboard, and solid construction. However, it has a major drawback in that the fan constantly runs and is pretty loud. I added 16GB of memory to it hoping that might help the situation, and it did help somewhat, but the fan still comes on frequently. Im not using it in a hot environment, so the fan(s) really shouldnt be coming on this much.

So far so good! No complaints here. :) I went from a windows 7 computer, playing games on, to this laptop and it is heaven!

Overall a terrific value for a gaming laptop. The GTX 1650 4Gb video card runs just a tad slower than a GTX 1060. Amd Ryzen 5 processor with 4-core is ample for gaming and HD editing in Premiere Pro. 8Gb of ram wasn’t enough for my apps, so I ordered an additional 8Gb stick for the available slot. See photos for model number of the Samsung stick. The case is light yet stiff plastic, keyboard and trackpad are not bad. I’ve had more expensive laptops with worse. 2nd 2.5 hard drive bay for expanded storage. The standout spec is the 120hz display, overall it looks great for gaming and editing. Some might pick on its color specs, nits, however ASUS includes a nice app to adjust to your liking. Overall wish I would have found this sooner, I’ve wanted a mobile gamer and light editing system for travel. This fits perfectly for my on the go needs.

I bought this for Sketchup, Twinmotion, and light gaming. Overall, its exactly what I wanted, and about half what I expected Id have to pay. The Ryzen CPU is plenty; add 8GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD (for additional storage). The included SSD is 256GB, which is fine for Windows and small program, but games and large apps like Unreal Engine need their own drive (not included). The screen is good but not perfect; gets the job done. Fans are noisy at full load. Keyboard is excellent. The laptop is light and portable. Build quality is solid but not spectacular.

Not good battery life. Good for basic gaming. If your mobile make sure an outlet is near.

I like this laptop a lot for playing games, including on high graphics settings. The problem is that it seems to be very unreliable. It has blue screened many times since Ive had it, about a month or so, including one time that was bad enough that windows stopped loading and I had to use a windows 10 recovery to reinstall.

Just bought an ASUS fx505dt in august, upgraded from a 6 year old daily driver Dell with zero graphics. So far Ive had minimal problems. Got mine for $750 (800 with taxes/shipping/etc) and so far Ive gotten my moneys worth. Only comes with a 256GB SSD, but it has great modability and is built for easy upgrades I ordered a 1TB HDD for $30 and installed it myself with zero issues. I wouldnt recommend it for people with hardcore gaming/video editing in mind, but for someone like me who plays older games (No Mans Sky, Witcher 3, Skyrim, etc) and watches movies on their laptop its good for the price. My one complaint is volume level, the speakers are fairly small and positioned on the sides of the base, so sometimes its hard to hear (I also have 30% hearing loss from my time in the military, so thats a contributing factor) All in all its a decent budget rig, but it IS a budget rig.

great budget laptop, screen is nice and the keyboard feels great, and on top of all that you can upgrade the ram and ssd no complaints for the price.
