> 24 hourI used the LC7i to sum factory amplifier output channels to get a full range signal for my amplifiers (1 monoblock amplifier for subwoofer & 2 channel full range for front stage speaker upgrades). The cover was easy to remove to switch the jumpers to sum so that all inputs are combined to one full range output. The signal it puts out to my amps is high voltage and super clean (no noise even parked in my Lexus with windows up - super quiet vehicle so would be easy to hear any noise introduced into the audio). The accubass features works well to counter factory bass rolloff at higher volumes. Construction and fit/finish is very good - this product is well made and built like a tank, and its always nice to support products actually made (from start to finish) in the USA! :) The only downside, and the reason 1 star is missing: Audio Control will not warranty unless sold through an authorized dealer, and then only for 1 year UNLESS the authorized dealer installs it, then the warranty is 5 years. This is inconsiderate of the many of us in the DIY mobile audio who are competent and have years of installation experience, but are not ourselves authorized dealers for Audio Control. The authorized dealers also try to sell this at full retail price and the ones I spoke with locally were only will to discount on price IF I paid them to install (which costs extra) - not cool since installing this myself, with my knowledge and background, is a piece of cake. I believe Audio Control should re-evaluate their policy on this - most people with no car audio installation experience and no clue about car electrical systems would be way to afraid to try to install this, so its mostly a non-issue. Those of us confident it is something we can do in our sleep shouldnt be penalized on warranty. If damage to the unit was caused by improper installation, Audio Control would be able to see the evidence and could simply have a clause in the warranty that user error is not warranted...

> 24 hourBought this to replace one that I had installed a few months. On the original I had an issue where sound would cut out if I had both channels of one output plugged into amp. I wrote to customer service to see if that was a defect or possibly an issue I caused, so I could decide to repair or trash it, but I ordered another to get my system back ASAP. I never got a response from audio control, and it seems like my new one is acting up now, although I have not diag’d To verify if it is the same issue. I’ll do that over the weekend and update my review if I find the LC to be at fault. If it is, I will be changing brands, as I feel I should get years of trouble free use out of this. If it’s not, I’ll still likely explore other options when I need another converter, based solely on the lack of communication. I don’t need an immediate answer to an email enquiry, but an answer within a week is reasonable to expect I think. That said, when it works, it work great. The features are nice, and it’s easy to dial the settings in properly. But I would expect high quality hardware for the premium price I’m paying for this, and so far I’m not certain that’s what you get with audio control. My 2 star overall review is based on the fact that it failed in under a year and there is no communication if there is an issue.
