Greater than one weekWell, maybe my situation is a little different than most. I have a 2012 Accord with the premium sound and navigation. I didnt want to replace the head unit, and only wanted to add a subwoofer, so I bought this LOC and its going only to a sub amp. This is the 3rd try to get the bass right. Long story short, I added a HiFonics 1100 watt amp and a Kicker S10L7 dual 4 ohm voice coil. The subs RMS is 600 watts, so I wired it in series, and tuned down the amp. First I tried with a passive Kicker LOC. It worked, but didnt sound good. There was no punch, and no really deep bass. And the bass really rolled off. The bass was really loud under volume level 15, then when I passed 15, the mids and highs caught up, but the bass started reducing. The factory system does this so you dont blow your speakers. So I thought Id try an active LOC with bass normalizing. I chose this one over the LC2 because I probably will want to add more to the system later on. After trying different set ups, I had to use the input from the rear speakers on the main and the sub on the ch. 3 & 4. Then I summed those 4 channels. And I hooked the RCAs up to the MAIN output. I tried to use the sub on ch. 5 & 6 only, but because the factory amp really limits the frequencies, it still only had a short range of sub frequencies. I still need to mess with it, I feel that the Acubass isnt working for me. I dont think the unit is defective, I think that the factory system is fighting the aftermarket subwoofer. And before you ask, I disconnected the ANC. Both at the front and the rear. I never had any issues with feedback even with the ANC connected. But I do know have a problem with the sub producing noise, (not engine noise, but bass) between 800 and 2100 rpms. And if I open the door, or trunk it goes away. So as far as the LC7i goes, Id say its a good product. Not sure if its worth $100 though.
