AudioControl LC7i Black 6-Channel Line Output Converter with Bass Restoration

> 3 dayI used the LC7i to sum factory amplifier output channels to get a full range signal for my amplifiers (1 monoblock amplifier for subwoofer & 2 channel full range for front stage speaker upgrades). The cover was easy to remove to switch the jumpers to sum so that all inputs are combined to one full range output. The signal it puts out to my amps is high voltage and super clean (no noise even parked in my Lexus with windows up - super quiet vehicle so would be easy to hear any noise introduced into the audio). The accubass features works well to counter factory bass rolloff at higher volumes. Construction and fit/finish is very good - this product is well made and built like a tank, and its always nice to support products actually made (from start to finish) in the USA! :) The only downside, and the reason 1 star is missing: Audio Control will not warranty unless sold through an authorized dealer, and then only for 1 year UNLESS the authorized dealer installs it, then the warranty is 5 years. This is inconsiderate of the many of us in the DIY mobile audio who are competent and have years of installation experience, but are not ourselves authorized dealers for Audio Control. The authorized dealers also try to sell this at full retail price and the ones I spoke with locally were only will to discount on price IF I paid them to install (which costs extra) - not cool since installing this myself, with my knowledge and background, is a piece of cake. I believe Audio Control should re-evaluate their policy on this - most people with no car audio installation experience and no clue about car electrical systems would be way to afraid to try to install this, so its mostly a non-issue. Those of us confident it is something we can do in our sleep shouldnt be penalized on warranty. If damage to the unit was caused by improper installation, Audio Control would be able to see the evidence and could simply have a clause in the warranty that user error is not warranted...

2012 Audi Q5 3.2
> 3 dayWhen I opened the package, the device was taken out of its packaging as you can see in the photo. The device clearly shows signs of use and has a deep scratch on one side. I don’t understand why the product was advertised as new when I was sold a used device. The device also came with a bass control knob which was delivered before this device why initially gave me a red flag. Very unhappy about this one. What bothers me the most is the deep scratch on the side. I wish I could post more pictures

> 3 daySo it worked great, for 2 days. Excellent sound quality, no feedback, easy set up. But then it started sending my subwoofer amp into protection mode. I went to a local shop to have everything checked out, and they said the LC7i was bad. They were a dealer, they replaced it with one they had and everything was good again. So I know theres a lot of mixed reviews, and maybe I just got a bad one. Do your research on this before buying.
