Greater than one weekYep! These are professional grade fire starters! I’ve used many over the years but these are the heftiest and heaviest I’ve ever owned. I have a cutting horse blade S&W pocket knife with a serrated blade that will send fire and brimstone into the sky like the 4th of July. I ain’t lying. I even made a video to prove it.

> 3 dayReally like these rods. Tested them with dryer lint, and got a good spark to light the fire.

> 3 dayThese are great rods, I just did not think about how thick 1/2 an inch is. The diameter of the rods are thick. They are bigger than I expected. But they throw sparks really well, accidentally burned a hole in my blanket.

> 3 dayMuch better than standard ferro rods, they put out tons of sparks. Tested them on the last two kayak trips ive taken and worked great.

> 3 dayOnly used flints in the past. These were very nice and easy to use. I like the size, even though some people will say they are too large. Only complaint is that I wish the hole in the end was larger to accommodate 550 paracord. Ive already used hundreds of strikes and holds up well. I actually use a hacksaw blade as the striker and works well.

> 3 dayThis Ferro rod is much to hard and as a result it does not throw good sparks. There are much better Ferrocium rods on the market.
