Greater than one weekI have had smaller rods for a long time, but these are killers! BIG sparks, instant fire!

> 3 dayI’ve used the beyite Ferro Rods once to start a fire in my fire pit, just to check them out. They were purchased to be added to my camping gear (1) and BoB (1). I did not experience what other reviewers have described as “a massive jet of superheated sparks” or “fireworks” (methinks some slight hyperbole is at play), but I was able to catch my tinder on fire after a couple strikes. Having large hands, I’m glad I went with at least the 5” Ferro Rods, as the size of these allowed me to take a firm grip. All told, I’m pleased with this product, and glad I purchased it.

> 3 dayIt’s a little heavy for backpacking use; maybe get the 3/8 inch ones. But, it does throw some hot sparks! Will set cotton on fire.

> 3 dayDurable! I used in the rain and works great. Little tip: use knife or axe and shave off slivers of the rod into a small pile, then strike with spark and watch the flames.

> 3 dayA real hand full of sparks with minimal force. Much better than the little ones. Add a half of a metal sawblade and really increase the efficiency and output. No problem starting a fire now.
